The procedure shown is based on the official procedure by VAG for those gearboxes. Nevertheless, following the steps shown is at your own risk!
The procedure apply for all ZF Gearboxes 6-Speed and 8-Speed in all VAG vehicles after 2005

Will this procedure work with any version of the software in the box? I know that when using ODIS in the early 8 hp you will only do adaptation when stationary, and in later model years it is driven with adaptation while driving

Yes, all sw versions have ssame procedures.

no, it does not. it doesn’t flash or change the sw on the tcu.

When braking, my gearbox skips 4th gear in downshifts, when braking it shifts to 5-3-2-1

Hello, what is your gearbox? All traditional automatic transmissions need to go to each gear in order to go to the next year it cannot skip a gear. it is possible that it holds it for a very little time.

I tried that, a slightly different adaptation procedure than in your manual, but unfortunately it didn't help

I have VW Arteon 2021 8 speed transmission i need to know what gear box in it 🙏

For sure it is not ZF8HP, because it is always mounted on longitudinal engine platforms like A4 A6 A8 etc. On the smaller cars like golf, Passat, A3 - they have transverse engine and another gearboxes. Your should be the DSG gearbox, which also have adaptations and can be reset.

I have a Bentley Continental GT, I replaced all solenoids and I want to reset the values, I tried this procedure but in the transmission module I just have *ECU Information *Trouble codes *Live data *Active test *Adaptation *Advanced ID *Security acces *Coding *Guided functions As noted theres no "Basic settings" options ¿How can I proceed?
