It's not only plumbers, contractors in general seem to work on their own time frames and getting them to come back and change or just finish something or even getting them to call you or txt you back can be an unwanted journey in patience and FRUSTRATION! Your system is amazing. Looking forward to seeing it up and running perfectly. 👍💖👍

My favorite is pvc cement for fixing those types of leaks. And plumbers tape is great for bulkheads. I love seeing people do DIY projects like this. It reminds me of decades ago when we had to make everything DIY. Great projects, this will save so much time with water changes. I use to have this style auto water change in my store. First thing I did was laugh at the ball valves, they are so hard to turn. Slay qween!

I understand he was slow, he did killer work though. He even added a cleanout to the drain line. Your forethought in adding valves everywhere is great. There are often only two or three in an entire home which is wild. I have one accessible on every branch of piping in my house so that if I need to do a repair in one section I don't have to turn the water off to the entire home.

Next time you have to use threaded fittings try putting a small amount of silicone on the threads. It'll help seal it and the silicone won't bond to thw pvc so it'll still be easy to take apart in the future. They also make liquid teflon but I personally prefer using silicone

Metal valves are ok on drain pipes, BUT maybe not on the water supply to tanks. Because if they have brass or copper or other metals in contact with the water, it will dissolve some of the metal into your fish tank water. That can kill fish or hurt them - so you'd have to do a lot of water analysis to make sure the metal concentration in the water is at a safe level - for whoever needs to know. For thread leaks - there is a great thing called PTFE tape. You open the joint and clean it, wrap a few turns to match the thread direction and reassemble. There are liquid joint compounds "pipe dope" that I would only use on drains. Your bulkheads - might need a careful tightening - easy with experience, or you can use a crow's foot and a torque wrench to make sure you don't crack the glass. Maybe some cardboard in the way of tools to prevent small cracks.

you sound like my wife talking about any plumbing issue I have ever had to take care of at my home. Additionally, the metal inside the ball valves may leech in to the tank. You can probably find plastic boiler drains. I used one on my water change setup. That is more like a garden spigot type mechanism instead of a ball valve. Think about it like a baby gate valve.

Taylor, you may have already thought of this but just in case I want to warn you. Those awesome filters you've got under the house can't deal with hot water! It will ruin the sediment filter for sure and the carbon block. The work around is that the hot and cold water are mixed to the temperature of your aquarium and then pass through the filters. You may have already thought of this, or of another solution, but I still wanted to bring this to your attention. P.S. use Teflon tape on thread connections! This is used in almost every plumbing job in my country. I use it constantly when building R.O. units and when performing plumbing jobs on our water main. In any case, great video and love the project update!
