@@DeanWilson Hello! I have a question. I'm making a Bath bomb to soak foot and relief pain. In my country I can't find the SLSA ingredient. it's neccesary if I don't need a lot of bubbles. or do you have a recipe for Soak foot bath bombs? Thank you

Dean I want to thank you for providing your recipe! I subbed 50% avocado oil and 50% cocoa butter for the almond oil and it worked so very well! The bombs float, spin and produce some nice frothy bubbles and great fizz. It's not too greasy...just enough to be moisturizing. The scent amount is spot on too. Thanks a bunch for sharing this!

Making lots of goodies for my family (candles, lip balms, etc) and they're asking for bombs and steamers. I heard that you have the best bath bomb recipe and it seems like it, hands down. Can't wait to try it! I've been looking for a great shower steamer recipe and none have come close to the care and technical detail or your recipes. What would you recommend we change for this bath bomb recipe to make a good shower steamer? In my personal "arsenal" I've got everything but SLSA, but would love to hear what you would do differently with steamers =)

Hello Dean! I've been watching your videos for a little while and admire your work. I really want to thank you on some items with your bath bomb tutorial. 1 - I truly appreciate the time you took with this recipe. I have used several and could not get them to work as my material was too wet or too dry. Just a chore to deal with. I found that yours was easy to work with and I was able to make 7 medium bombs. 2- I appreciate the time that you took to convert this recipe to US Customary table. I had no issue with the fractions and am grateful for the time you took to convert it! Thanks and I'll keep watching. Robin. Alexandria VA USA

This is a great video and your bombs are lovely!!! A suggestion for those having a difficult time molding i.e. too dry or too wet of mixture. I add my wet ingredients first but I don't add alcohol or water. I mix the dry and the wet ingredients, then I spray with alcohol to make the mixture just moist enough to be able to squeeze the mixture in my hand until it is like damp sand. I mold with stainless steel molds, tap, tap, tap, and they come out easily. Depending on your climate you may need more or less liquid. I live in FL so my ingredients aren't as dry as they would be elsewhere. I think that trips a lot of people up. In other words, it's a dance of balance between the wet and dry ingredients. You may have to adjust the liquids slightly for your climate. I hope this helps! ♡

Dean I love watching your videos! Instead of using SLSA to make the bubbles could you add a little bit of liquid bubble bath or Castile soap to the wet ingredients?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 2 ай бұрын
I have tried to add bubble bath to my bath bombs but because its more a liquid it does not merge into the power, it just makes the bath bomb wet and it doesn't not stick together. I don't know about castile soap but i think it would be the same. I think from memory, butter milk powder might be an option but look it up first as I have never tried it.

Hi Dean, I've tried your recipe twice now and I can't seem to get them to harden. The only difference I did was using avocado in place of the almond. I don't know how hard to pack. Although they seem to float, I don't know if the reason is that I need a harder packing? The recipe is really nice! I used Irene of Body BonBon's mold and they look awesome. I also did put them into the container as you do. Any help would be great. I only make them for myself and my kids, and really appreciate all your hard work and the opportunity of the recipe!

This recipe sets very hard, very quickly Dean... my only issue is that I don't have enough moulds to leave them sitting inside half of one to dry and when I placed them on foam with cling film over it, they still went slightly flat (or more misshapen) at the bottom. No other complaints about them though... fastest drying recipe I have ever sampled :D

Hi Dean! I have been doing your recipe several times and I love it, but today I had a hard time, and the 1 inch mold did not work at all.I am in Oregon USA, and today the humidity is 35%, do you think that is the reason? You don't need to use SLSA for your bath bombs. It just makes more bubbles. The polysorbate will help with the oils and the mica so they work well in the bath.

I love your video thank you. Your technique is different than other ones i have watched. It seems dry and powdery but holds togehter so well. Most other instructions tell you to spritz until the mixture holds its shape. Could you explain this please?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 3 жыл бұрын
That is true, you should spritz and mix until it holds solid in your hand.

Can I ask why you use rubbing alcohol please? I'm a newbie at this and want to understand everything I'm doing. This is the best video I've seen on "how to do" by far! Thank you 🙏🏻

Thank you. I have tried water and witch hazel but they both seem to activate the powders so rubbing alcohol is my preferred option for binding the powders together.

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe! Do you think this recipe would work well pressed into a silicone mold too?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 7 жыл бұрын
Maybe, but you might have to leave them in the mold for quite a while. If you do this, put clear wrap over the top once you filled all the molds. Keep the air out.

Thank you for the great video as always. Does the Mica Powder leave any residue in the bathtub? Can I use 15 gm of water instead of alcohol?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 7 жыл бұрын
i didn't have any stain in my tub after 4 hours but tubs are made differently. testing is needed. water will activate the dry mix if tipped in. you could try spraying water with spritz bottle but but see what its like before adding water.

you make it look so easy Dean. I am about to try. do you have to have the slsa? if not would i change the quantity of anything in your recipe?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 7 жыл бұрын
Nope, you don't need the SLSA. I use to make them without it and they are fine.. Just more bubbles with it. You dont need to change the recipe.

Do you find that if you use the container to put them in at the end that you can get away with making them while it's raining outside/after it's been raining? My bath bombs don't seem to go rock hard for me if I leave them sitting on the bench when made during/after rain thanks to the humidity
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 7 жыл бұрын
I have made these while it's raining but the second I have done they go in the box, even before I take the tops and bottoms off.

Great recipe and easy to follow. I just wanted to know, could leave it as a loose powder version and can I use an essential oil?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 4 жыл бұрын
You can crush it down to powder once it sets. That is fine. I have not used essential oils before.

Dean Wilson They turned out fantastic! I colored them with white shimmer, gold and orange Micas! And scented them with white nectarine and pink coral from Lonestar candle supply company. And I hid some blue and pink fizzy embeds in them. I topped them with pink Himalayan salt.

Thank you. Can I leave out the poly 80 and the SLSA? I'm so glad I found this video. It's awesome! New subscriber here.
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Maris. If you leave out the poly80 then your oils will float on the surface, its best to add it. It also helps disperse the mica on the water surface. SLSA is optional.

Hi Dean...your video is so easy to follow. I have but a couple of questions. 1. The ingredients you stated in your recipe, is there substitute for a more common product? 2. Is there a reason why you put the SLSA last as you mentioned that it could make one cough if inhaled. Why not place the SLSA first and be covered by the baking soda, Epsom Salt, citric acid..etc...?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rena. 1. I don't know of any ingredients to sub for what I used, Critic acid, baking soda etc needs to be used. 2. You can use either way. Just my process. :)

Hi dean! I love this recipe they always get rock hard. I have an issue with them being dusty after they dry. Any suggestions on how to stop that? Should I add more oil? Thanks
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 6 жыл бұрын
I get that too, it's usually just the top of the bath bombs, the rest should be solid. I leave my bath bombs in a container for 2-5 days without any air. This will dry them out quicker. More oils will take longer for them to try.

Dean thanks it is wonderful to watch. I wonder it takes time at least for me, do they get dry? do you spray them a bit with RA?
@DeanWilson
@DeanWilson 7 жыл бұрын
I wait 2 days for them to dry but at least 5 days before really to sell as people pick them up. I don't spray RA, it goes in with the oils.
