DIY Best Vertical A-Frame Hydroponic Garden Farm Build

This How-To video will show you how to build your own A-Frame hydroponic garden. We cover the materials you'll need to buy, the construction of the garden, as well as provide tips and tricks we learned while building the farm.
You will need the following materials to build your A-Frame style garden:
-Rockwool / Stonewool Starter Cubes
-Germination Station w/Heat Mat
-Seeds
-Plant Grow Light for Indoor Plants
-Plastic Plant Labels Tags
-2 Inch Black Slotted Mesh Net Pot for Hydroponics
-Clay Pebbles, 4mm-16mm
-Water Tank (trash can, plastic)
-Fertilizer for hydroponic farming
-Ph testing drops
-Ph up and Ph down solution
-Pump (ECO 1584 Submersible Pump)
-Tubing for the pump (we used regular garden hose)
-Tubing connectors and valves (We got ours at Home Depot)
-Plumber's tape (Teflon)
-4" / 6" inch PVC tubes
-Drill bit to make 2” holes in the PVC tubes
-4" / 6" inch PVC tube end caps
-Brass compression connectors (see video)
-Male or female connectors for hose
-2 inch PVC tube system to bring the water back to the tank
-Wood and screws for the construction of the A frame
-½ metal strapping to attach the pipe to the frame
-Level
If you have any questions or comments, please let us know. We tried to DIY this project and we aren't professionals. We just wanted to try building our own garden.

Just curious, is there a specific angle of the PVC you were going for or just eye balling it based on the level?

I'm from 🇱🇰 This is the clearest video I have seen.. Can I know that the lenght of 4inch PVC pipe & Space between 2 holes in PVC pipe? I am a university student.. this video very help to my project.. thank you ❤️

I am trying to decide between using the two 90 degree angle pieces (to go in the other direction) or use end-caps with a hole and flexible tubing. Can anyone offer suggestions? I like the simplicity of the 90 degree pieces but wondering if I will want to control the water level with the caps and tubing.

90 degree angle pieces are the best. The caps and the tubing tend to clog.

You have plenty of scope to increse your yield by adding more tubes and spacing depending on crop....otherwise it seems you are NOT getting the full potential from your project...best of luck

Yes, you can. You need to allow enough space for tomato roots though, as they can grow to a big size.

You painted your pipes a dark colour Surely this will attract too much heat and affect your crop ?

Why didn't you have the upper pipes flowing into the lower pipes to return back to the water tank? Seems like you wouldn't need that 2 inch return pipe the whole length of the system if you just did that. I have seen a few of these builds where they have the water flow separately to each tube - is there a reason you don't just connect the tubes to each other and have water flow from one to the next on it's way down back to the tank? You are recycling all the water anyway so I don't think it would make any difference to levels of nutrient or disease separation. So is there another reason?

Sometimes you want to be able to control flow to individual pipes. Also having it separate makes it easier to clean sections without shutting off the whole system.
