every time I sew a skirt that cut on bias the sides seams get gathering and puckering! Did you use a straight stitch?

Hi, yes I use a straight stitch. If the gathering is little then strong pressing afterwards might solve this issue completely! If you are sewing a very light satin maybe you can try putting a 3rd layer of a tissue paper (maybe even cheapest baking paper) or a layer of interfacing without pressing it on. After stitching just pull off that 3rd layer. It should stabilise the seam 🙈
