I’ve never seen someone macrame starting at the bottom. That’s actually super smart because you won’t run out of cord as easily. I’m going to try that next time!

I saw someone soaking the cane webbing for 40min in warm water before using it. Soaking the spline for a few minutes might make it more flexible and easier to work with. :)

I can confirm this. I live in southwest france where basket making is common. I took a basket making workshop last year and the first thing we did was soak all our materials before weaving.

But can you glue it on while wet. Or do you tape it in place wet til Dry then glue? Wonderful taking g basket making. Hello from Philadelphia, west of.

@@nancyanneberg403 I would bend it into the shape I need (and fix it with tape or clamps depending on the project) and let it dry a little bit before glueing it. But I never tried it myself. Just a thought.

The thing is that's great for most things, but the cane will then constrict as it dries which might result in the jar shattering.

I needed to see more detail, going more slowly, on the macrame planter, especially on the last hanging loop/knot. I want to use that in jewelry-making, and I watched this section several times, but never could see just how to do it. Very frustrating, as it looked great when finished

@@ShweMyaukMyauk Thay price is scary. I can't afford $150.00 to $195.00 for a plant and then it won't even feed me? I can buy a pack of seeds from MIGardener and grow 500 plants that will feed me and my family. Lol Sorry, I'll have to stick to my getting cuttings from friends and families established plants when I want house plants. And hinestly that must be California pricing because I can get the same where I live potted for under $40.00 maybe even less.

Drew, I really appreciate your eclectic sense of design. I’ve been putting together my “new” 1951 bungalow. I love color, and my kitchen is based on my FiestaWare in rainbow colors. I call the style Fiesta Cantina, because those colors are picked up in my several pieces of talavera wall art and planters. My living room is filled with things I’ve gathered over my life so far. I have some Asian rosewood furniture I got in Japan, a mission oak library table where my grandmother taught me to write cursive, age 4. Some assemble-it-yourself shelves and end tables from Wayfair. A couple of great steampunk lamps. I describe it as Asian steampunk farmhouse. All just great fun. It’s me, being me. Love your videos, and sometimes I find myself talking to you (and Macenna), saying, “Y’all, there’s an easier way to do that!” You both are adorable.

Absolutely, I am a plant hoarder, kidding but I have my own little nursery behind my house for succulents! Free plants forever! Just invest in a couple bags of potting soil. The sunshine is free if you live in Southern California, all year round!

Oh my gosh!, I had to comment this before I finished watching your video!! Regarding house plants. I love plants. I’m fifty seven and have plants that my grandmother gave me (clippings from her plants), when I was eighteen!!! They have moved with me, I have given others clippings of those same plants and I like to think they are still alive and in the places and areas that I have lived and left them/given them to others! I think that is really cool. So my plants are all across America!! That’s one reason why I love plants! You can share them and have them in many places from just one plant! I have plants people/friends have shared with me and when someone says they think my plants are pretty, I can say oh, that one came from my friend in whatever place I acquired it from! I just think that’s cool. In a cool way they/we are all connected!! Just wanted to comment that!! Now I’m gonna watch the rest of the video!! ❤️💜💚

Bohemian style is the one I like the least and yet Drew can make it interesting. I love all that you do with rattan and today's rattan in glass was absolutely lovely. The lampshade also, quite pleasing.
