Those fender controls in your tractor are the most brutally practical idea I think I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe John Deere’s lawyers allowed it. Nice job on the hitch! Also, if my welds were that nice I’d get closeups too 👌.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks, Wes! Those fender controls are why I bought a Deere. They’re so handy. You’d really have to try hard to run yourself over with it. Kind of like the steam roller scene in Austin Powers.

Good video. Thanks for directing me to your Box Blade Ball Reciever build. Will tow a Datsun Pic bed box trailer w/blade for firewood gathering and other chores. Thanks for Video, from Emerald Empire. Have a good one

Looks pretty handy. My used tractor came with a hitch for the loader. I've found it extremely useful.

Good too see someone clean all the area where they are going to weld especially with home welders.

I don’t think I could have welded through the powder coating 😬

Nice work thee sir. Oh, and that remote operation of the tractor on the rear fender is genius!

Thank you, Jeff. Those controls are a game-changer.

Looks like a great addition. Also, nice welds. I don't know the intricacies of a larger tractor but I have a Deere 2305 with an I-match for my 3 point hitch. I use it for my weight box. I also have an accessory bar that spans the lower part of the hitch and I can use it for my trailer hitch.

Haha,..just as you said that you may not need gussets and the word WRONG, showed up, I said,.."oh yes you will"!! I found that we can't have too many receivers on attachments, just for these purposes. Now, there are two tools that I don't have,... the band saw and the cordless grinder, and now, I'm thinking, again! Great video,.and thanks.
@NorthwestSawyer5 жыл бұрын
Reg, I borrowed a friend’s porta-band once and HAD to have one. It’s so much better than a cutoff wheel and grinder. I bought the cordless grinder after accidentally cutting the cord on my last one. Money well spent!

Great idea. Deere had a great idea with those fender controls. I'm guessing saves lots of time and frustration.

I kept my box blade on most of the time but I wish I knew why I never once thought about doing this it sure would have come in handy a lot of times. Such a pain attaching implements back and forth.

2:50---------Never wear gloves when drilling steel or aluminum, the chips will grab ahold of your glove and pull your hand into the spinning drill. A bare hand will get cut but still allow you to pull your hand away. I saw it happen to a coworker. That bit you used doesn't produce curly chips like a twist drill. Advice from a machinist and fabricator of 45 years. Safety glasses at 9:30. You are a very good welder.

Jason, great video. What is the marker called you use to make lines on the steel?
@NorthwestSawyer5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The pen is called “ideal mark” made by Diagraph msp. They’re actually a surveyor pen used to write on wooden stakes. They work great on everything.

Jason, on your JD tractor [I believe it's called the "Hitch Assist"], using the buttons on the rear fender to move the tractor slightly, do you know if that feature is available on the 5R series as well?
@NorthwestSawyer5 жыл бұрын
I don’t know for sure but I don’t think so. The tractor has to have a hydrostatic transmission and I don’t think the 5 series do. I could be wrong though.

@tenncutt4 жыл бұрын
@@NorthwestSawyer i mean for your 3 point. You mount the quick hitch then you can just back up to your implements and hook and lift them easily like your box blade or bushhog. Not disrespecting your trailer hitch at all! I like it. The quick hitch is not a trailer hitch, just watching you unhook your box blade made me remember why i like my quick hitch so much. Look at the one at Harbor Freight

Be careful wearing those type of gloves when using a drill press they can get grabbed by the chuck and your going for a ride it’s not pretty! I saw it happen to a coworker and zip broken arm wrist etc... was ugly ! Those gloves are great but when using a machine that spins the fabric can get caught .
