Dude, no need to apologize. This whole idea is flabbergasting. Lol. Building your own house… by yourself… and it’s 2023 not 1823. Haha! But yeah, I’m just like you, I always wanted to build to my own house. I loved architecture since the 5th grade after walking through my first KB Home and my grandpa showing me the skyscrapers in downtown Houston. I spent years just thinking about building my own house. But didn’t know where to get started. So, I read a lot books about how houses are built. Like the engineering behind construction. KZfaq channels like, Perkins Builder Brothers and Matt Risinger were huge helps to understand not only building principles but how to walk yourself through the 10-20 different ways you can handle one task. It’s insane. Like for instance, I probably could have plumbed the house differently. Larger drain pipes, more clean outs, an extra vent pipe. But the house is fine. The master plumber that I consulted with told me that he and another master plumber could plumb the exact same house and it would look completely different. Anyways, my biggest learning with this whole thing, hopefully this helps you too… Get comfortable with the idea of making mistakes and then correcting them forever. Because you learned how to be better at the craft and more efficient. Then you don’t have the learn that part of the skill again. I could probably point to 20 things with this build that I would do differently now than then. But man, that’s just how I (and you) get better.

So in Texas you can owner build a house and rent it out if it's not your only home? Because you can not do that in any of the other 49 States????

Great question, Motown. Specifically for pex piping, you cover them basically a pool noodle like material, it’s called foam pipe insulation. That material protects the pex piping from the sun and against freezing. But… I will say, pex piping already has antifreezes properties. 👍🙏
