I wouldn't spray directly on the car. Maybe find a way to place some orange peel around the hood, or on a piece of cardboard, most cats don't like the smell of fresh orange peel.

Yep, chemical deterrents aren't as effective as spraying a cat with strong blast of water. I bought the "Scarecrow" motion activated sprinkler in the early 00's and after about a week, never had cat problems again. I still have the sprinkler and I'm just waiting for another opportunity to use it.

Cats, as "thinkers" can learn a new route in just 24 hrs. I used my motion activated water sprayer to guard one part of my lawn, and the next night they circumvent the spray by traveling over the other part. I just bought two motion activated sound-emitting deterrents, to work with my water sprayer. Hopefully both working together, will cause the strays to keep on moving. The chemical concoction of lemon juice in vinegar is also used, and it works. After spraying a ring around several ornamental grasses, I observed a stray stretched out in a frozen stance, it's nose sniffing the air. This is in contrast to their usual self-assured walk through my garden.

It's a possibility but I didn't have this problem, Jay! And there are tons of ants in our backyard from spring to fall.

I would add citrus peels to the pots instead of this. I've been testing another method in the past week, you might wanna give it a try yourself: coffee grounds sprinkled in the pots, close to the rim. I think it's working but won't be sure for at least one more week.

It depends on how often and how much you spray with each use. It smells of orange so no, your furniture or carpet won't smell bad. Just make sure you spray lightly or the carpet will have a hard time drying.

It's not sticky and the smell is not strong to humans. It goes away after a while, that's why you need to spray often in order for this repellent to work.

So you'll get rid of the cats and invite bees, ants, wasps etc.

use double sided tape on furniture. They hate the sticky feel and buy them a scratch board. Cats have a urge to always scratch on almost anything.

Glad you found a solution. Cats don't eat plants lol, but many like to pee or poop around or on plants. The one I have now loves using the mulch in my garden as her litter box, I need to spray the whole garden periodically.

My Smokie eat my aloe and caused damage to the tips lol... Had to put them in my room bc they can't handle the cold. Smokie just weird tho lol... I'm not sure about the cats outside bc there are 4 of them and I try to let my plants get sun on warmer days. They have been around them and it made me nervous. But the spray worked and they quit going around them

Terracotta tiles are not glazed so they are still porous. You actually care for them by applying oil regularly, so it's good for the tiles too. Thought it would share. I tried the orange Lemmon mix and it's effective if I spray it every few days in trouble spots. Thanks very much for your videos.

Cats are very complex creatures and much like humans, they are very different. Some will be affected by the smell of this mixture, some won't care a bit. That's what my cats do. But with a bit of perseverance, I managed to make the stubborn one to understand what areas are off limits for her.

There are so many reasons I wouldn't spray anything on cats. They lick themselves all the time and he'll be ingesting the ingredients. Plus if he's used to go hunting for rodents and stuff, this will alter his senses and he might not be able to smell the rodents. Also he uses his nose to smell his "enemies" and any other smell might interfere with his senses. Not to mention that he'll live in constant stress because cats usually hate the smell of this spray, imagine him having to live with it 24/7. What you need is a pheromone collar, he most likely gets into fights with male cats because of their hormones. Or just spay him.

Citrus oils are poisonous to cats if ingested and can kill it. Cats are hyper sensitive to many essential oils so please do your research before using them or any med's. Even the safer ones have to be very diluted. Especially if you want to put them directly on them where they can lick it off. Do not put citrus on a cat ever! Do you and your pet a favor and ask your Vet or try goggle first before experimenting with new things! Many things safe for people or even dogs will kill a cat! If you just spray these oils it on stuff they will avoid it themselves. Probably why this spay would work as a repellent as the cat knows it's poison to it. If you want your cat to stop fighting get him fixed! Usually the local humane society can help with cost. I got my boys fixed and they only play fright with each other now. The younger they are the better and will help stop and prevent them spraying in and around the house as well.

Try apple cider vinegar and water 1:1 ratio in a spray bottle
