Welcome to Christmas in July with Live Oak Nest! If you've been following me for a little while, you might remember me crafting up Christmas decor right until December 24th last year. HA! I'll let my twin toddlers take the blame. ;)
I had so many Christmas crafts and DIYs that I wasn't able to share at the time so I decided to do a fun Christmas in July this year and share some of those now. Hopefully this will give you all enough time to dream up all of your Christmas crafts, gather supplies, and start creating in November!
Today I'm sharing four different Christmas ornaments that I made last year! I decided to add a soft blue into my Christmas decor, and with the twins I knew I needed to use non breakable ornaments. So I decorated my tree with a bunch of ribbon and homemade ornaments last year. AND IT WAS SO PRETTY! Probably my favorite tree to date! I absolutely love decorating Christmas trees and in my former corporate career, I decorated a lot of them!

I recently saw an easy way to get the prongs back into the ornament top - pull up on the ring & it squeezes the prongs together for you! 😉 Thought it was a great tip!

@@LiveOakNest Question about the mercury glass ornaments: after few days they lost alot of the mirror effect and turned darker and more transparent. Do they need to be sprayed by a sealant? Or more coats without the water/vinegar? How long do you wait between coats?

A nice selection of projects for us to try. When I use paper clay and the paint is wet I sprinkle lightly with fine nail glitter in some places for extra festive sparkle. Champagne colour glitter works with most colours of paint.
