This is how I made ruffles but I used two lines of stitches

Two lines is always a good choice. Makes much more even ruffles. Thanks for sharing

At 9:20 You ask "Does that make sense?" I was over here nodding along to the entire explanation. You made it really easy to understand so kudos 👍😂 I sometimes have a hard time following tutorials but this was perfect! I'm hoping I can rope one of my 11 year olds into wanting to help me make one because this would be a perfect beginner project! I have experience making toy "pickup bags" and also tiered skirts, so everything done here is something I'm familiar with. The one thing I plan on doing that you didn't mention is using a lighter to heat treat the ribbon ends because fraying ribbon on such a cute project would be the worst! Thank you for the tutorial. I'm new, so I'm gonna subscribe and go check out some of your other videos ❤💚❤💚❤

Sorry if i missed it in the video, but what is the diameter of your finished skirt? I have a small tree too (4ft) & I'm wondering if i could also get away with using a yd of fabric!

For this skirt, the diameter came out to be 36" with the ruffles. The suggestion for tree skirts is they should be 6" bigger than the tree width. If I want to do padding in between would this way to work be successful? Or any suggestions to make it easier with padding inside?

I think you could add batting just fine. I'd suggest either stitching it down to one of the layers or using a spray adhesive to ensure it stays in place before sewing the layers.
