Great tutorial! I need that cute little sewing machine…what model is it? I can see that the brand is Singer…and is it on the more expensive or inexpensive side?
@sewsimplehome3 күн бұрын
This is a very basic Singer machine that my parents bought me in high school. Super inexpensive but gets the job done.

Thanks to your video, my vintage sunflower tea towel has a purpose now. The only problem is, where we live, has become plastic bag free. Cool sewing table:)

Less plastic but also means no need to sew. I'm sure you could find another purpose for the project. Thanks for watching.

thank you for the tutorial! what stitch length setting did you do on your sewing machine?
@sewsimplehome16 күн бұрын
I set my machine on a three but every machine is a bit different with their stitch settings. You want your regular stitch length to be somewhere in the middle of whatever range your sewing offers.

I was wondering what the measurements on the neckline piece are? It doesn't appear to be in the pattern unless I am reading it wrong. Beginner sewer here so just trying to work through it!
@sewsimplehome27 күн бұрын
Typically they're on the actual pattern pieces. Check the printed pattern and there should be a table with a cutting chart.

Cute. Is there a white seam on side?
@sewsimplehomeАй бұрын
On some of these there are but not all of them. Just depends on how they are pressed with the cardboard inside. If you had a thinner cardboard you shouldn't have a seam.

If I wanted to make it a little longer to add a zipper to the opening, at which step would I need to attach the zipper? And how 😅
@sewsimplehome3 ай бұрын
You'd want to add a bit more length to the top. As for what step, that would depend on whether you want the zipper raw edges to show or not. Maybe check out the boxy pouch to see how to hide the raw edges kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7aofMqhyNHVgok.htmlsi=v3RzxzHuFRuhWUrP

Thank you for sharing! I need a book sleeve for the book that bumps around in the car. Just a side note, I am glad I watched this video, my Singer is noisy like yours. I thought I was doing something wrong (not enough oil or tension) due to the noise. How is it my mother's Singer from the 60s and quieter than the more recent ones? Craftsmanship isn't what it used to be. Sad.

Hi im new to sewing and this will be my first ever project and id prefer to use interfacing. How much interfacing would i need? Do i cut it too?
@sewsimplehome4 ай бұрын
For this project you'll need about 1/4 yard of interfacing. I use fusible interfacing and cut it to fit the project. You can see the photo tutorial on the blog and that might better help you see how the project is put together. www.sewsimplehome.com/2023/08/boxed-bag-pattern.html
