I've been looking at different things to add to my handmade craft business. Loved these! I did find a trick to maker cleaner holes from another KZfaqr PolymerClayTutor and it actually works! I bought a 1/16 (I think) drill bit and made a handle out of polymer clay. Bake it as usual. After you’ve baked your pieces use your new tool to drill the holes. To make it I already had the clay and the drill bit was like $3.

Two important issues (1) please do not use your regular oven or toaster oven for baking polymer clay as it is toxic! You must ventilate the area very well to get rid of the fumes. If you want to use your regular oven use two aluminum pans and fill one with corn starch and put earrings into the pan on the cornstarch then put the other pan upside down on top of the first pan and clip the two together creating a good seal and bake for the length of time suggested by the manufacturer of the clay. After baking do not open the container in the house. Bring it outside and open it there letting the fumes disperse outside. (2) you really need to roll and manipulate the clay many times to mix all of the chemicals so that when the shapes are baked they do not fall apart or break. That is why people use a pasta machine to mix the clay properly. Once again, whatever you use on the clay should never be used in food preparation. So you need a single use pasta machine.
