DIY CNC Lathe PVC Threading

9 жыл бұрынI couldn't just have my CNC lathe sitting in the corner. After needing to get a bunch of irrigation installed around my property I was looking at PVC fittings. I want threaded fittings so instead of lining the pockets of a shop I am going to make my own. This is a first test threading a 50mm PVC pipe with a 2mm pitch thread 1.75mm deep. I used the Mach 3 wizard. Very happy with a nice sharp thread cut. Next step will be the female portions I need which will be more complicated.

Hello Boyd may I know what breakout board model did you use? very efficient indexing setup you have !!

Oh so I have always just used the cheap Chinese BOB'S and can't fault them. Even my router which is commercial grade has one. Slightly lacking on inputs though. The index is a single pulse with a hall effect sensor I pulled out of a printer.

Hi Cliff. I actually bought half a container of lathes and lathe/mills. China. This one is a great little lathe.
