Thank you so much for taking the time to dedicate to the apron. I can’t wait to make it and see what the girls do with the apron on instead of the basket. I appreciate you so much

I've watched a few egg apron vids by different people now and this is still my favourite. Watching this again today after watching a couple of your shop tour vids made me wonder if you've thought of making carpenter-type aprons - you could display them along the tool section in your shop, or the kid's toys section. I know it might be hard to find fabric sturdy enough for an adult's one, but I reckon kid-sized ones would make great gifts to pair with kids carpentry tool sets... What do you think, Christine?

@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Valerie. Pricing is a tough one for this. I usually don't charge for fabric as I get most of mine for free, and I'm always preaching about charging people what your time is worth. I plan to try $50 AU for mine which would cover about $15-$20 fabric, and the rest is labour. 😀

Love this! You mentioned the paper template is 43 inches long but the fabric pocket piece is 42 inches long. How does it work out? I'm stuck.
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs 7 ай бұрын
Jeanette, the last edges just get attached to the side of the apron. It won't hurt that the fabric is shorter than the paper😀

I made several 12 pocket aprons last year to sell at a craft show in Nov. I didn't sell any of them. I also made some for children and I didn't sell any of those either. I was very disappointed
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs 2 жыл бұрын
That is disappointing Sheila. I've cut out enough for two, and will give them a go in the shop, but not very hopeful as I think I have to put too high a price on them to make a profit 😄

I loved this idea, and so am in the middle of making it. I was careful to follow your measurements exactly with the template, but when finished making the pockets, my fabric strips were only 18 inches! Did anyone else have this problem?

Okay, never mind. I figured it out. I somehow forgot a pocket! 🤦‍♀ Will take a little bit, but I think I can fix it without having to start over.
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs Жыл бұрын
I hope you've got it sorted. If not, try adding some extra length to the fabric to make the extra pocket. With the pleats in, it shouldn't be noticed 😀

Until today I had never heard of a Egg Harvesting 12 pocket collecting apron. I am wondering what else this could be used for? It is a very pretty apron. I had to use an egg basket (butt shaped basket) and a little straw (or grass) when I was a girl and had to gather the eggs. A collecting apron would not have worked for me then; because, I had to climb to reach the nesting boxes. I was always scared that one of the hens would peck me in an eye.
