Thanks for the suggestion Barbara. When I have a product made, I try to show it at the beginning, but as you could see from the raw fabric, I hadn't made it yet.😀

Someone mentioned that this would make a great holiday napkin. I agree. In fact I think these would make great adult bibs, for those with cognitive impairment, tremors, etc. I'd make the cotton neck part shorter, so the absorbant fabric starts at chest level and maybe put a popper or two strategically placed so that the two absorbant sides can be spread out across the chest and secured while eating. If one used something like a cotton waffle, you could even make the top and bottom part from the same fabric and it would look like a scarf and so feel unobtrusive for the wearer, so they don't feel like they are wearing a bib. Or alternatively, go all out, and make some novelty seasonal ones, and offer to any guests who want, and if you have a guest with dementia or frailty, they can feel like they are part of the fun.

This Kitchen Boa Scarf idea would also be wonderful for the gym, and when working outside on hot days. This will keep me from losing my towel. These Kitchen Boas would make much needed Christmas (or anytime) gifts.Thank you for another wonderful idea, instructions, and video. You are a great teacher. I love your hair. My hair had to be cut short; because, my neck could not take the weight anymore. The pain became too much. I still miss my long hair. It was easy to get ready every morning, when I had long hair.

These are some great uses for the boa Arvetta. Every year I threaten to cut it all off, but it's so long because I'm too lazy to maintain it. I still can't raise my shoulder very high, so it's braids for now😁

A wonderful idea, Christine, especially pairing them with potholders, a nice gift. Question, when sewing the long back, seam wouldn't we be able to sew it a bit curved in around the neck, about 5 inches either side of the center? Like shaping it around the neck, by making the seam wider. I would like your opinion before I try it, please. Thank you.
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs 8 ай бұрын
That would work too Madelyn, and wasn't an option I had considered. May just have to try this myself. Perhaps try shaping a scrap fabric first, and ensuring you clip the curves too😀

Sorry for the delay in responding Patricia. I don't get notifications when people reply to comments. I'd love to make coulottes and a wrap-around dress, as well as lots of other garments. Wow!!! This is so awesome. I have seen these before but never knew how to make them. So I am really bad about pricing. How do you come up to $15.00 for your labor? I divided,multiple, subtract & added $45.00 and the 20 minutes it took you to make it and I can’t figure how you got $15.00 for labor. Please help, so I can price my products correctly so I don’t end up over or under pricing the customer.
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs 7 ай бұрын
Hi Christine. I have a labour rate of $45 per hour AU$. If it takes 20min to make, then 60min divided by 20min gives you 3. (60 / 20 = 3) so $45 divided by 3 is $15 (45 / 3 = 15). Hope that's helped😀 The other thing you can do once you decide on an hourly rate for example, I charge $45. Divide that by 60 minutes to give you a rate per minute. ($45 / 60 = .75 cents per minute). Put it on a post it note somewhere for quick reference. Then when you make something that takes say 45 min, you just multiply by .75 = $33.75 I'd round it up to $35
