I think this is true for ALL KZfaqrs ; once they get comfortable their real personalities come out. I mean, look at Cristine and Ben from SimplyNailLogical. They were both super quiet and “showed little interest in what they were doing”.

it may be hard to determine exactly where maraş/masticha originated, because the ottoman empire was so huge, and cultures and cuisines were shared more easily. they most likely originated around the same time, with turks and greeks naming their own versions. "masticha" is just the greek name for the ingredient, but mastic would have been available for anyone living in the region.

Mastich pronounced mastik is the sap of a tree that only grows on one island of Greece. It is know as the tears of the gods and it is said that where the trees grow is where a person (I don't remember his name or his crime) was dragged after a carriage all around the island. Mastik is a very good anti acid and if chewed can help with digestive problems.

This is a popular type of ie cream in turkey. We also cook sahlep in milk and drink it with a little bit of cinnamon in winter. Mastic is very popular as well, you can use it in all kinds of desserts(I even like putting i in sparkling water, it has a very nice flavor.).

You do know it's first originated in my city called kharamanarsh in Turkey it's called Marash dondurma (ice cream) and it's famous for the people who give it to you in a funny act and special clothing.

It's really a popular thing in Turkey we call it "Maraş Dondurması".And İt has a special game that the ice cream seller makes to you.If you come to Turkey you can see it in some streets. And the "Salep" is also a hot drink and it's a tradition in Winters.

Salep is pronounced as SAH LEP (E as in erika) it actually tastes really good in the winter if you cook a little bit with milk. it becomes a milk goddess treatment for your sore throat

FUN FACT : The "μαστιχα" (mastica)thing is a gum like substance witch comes from mastica trees it is only produced in greece and it tastes very nice!

I have mastic gum and it tastes very foresty so if anyone ever does recreate this than add lots of vanilla to overpower the piney taste.
