DIY- Ghostbusters Ecto-1 for Hasbro Plasma 6 inch figures Custom made 3d printed

Hasbro released the ghostbusters Ecto1 Plasma series as a Target exclusive, and its not compatible with the 6 inch plasma figures, so I decided to print my own Ecto 1, If you want to do the same, follow the following link to purchase these awesome files!

You will need to print it at 150% size if you like the scale you see in this video. IF you feel is too small feel free to print it larger! This Ecto one ended up been 22 inches long, by 8.5 inches wide and 8 inches tall (considering the roof rack accessories) without the roof rack it would be 4,5 inches tall , thank you for watching the video!
We used PetG to print this Ecto because is more resistant to different temperatures and its more solid.
This is the final part of a 3 part series of the build, follow me step by step as I cover how to :

5- How I added windshield and windows

Good job! The windows using a bottle and toy packaging is genius! You should do a few of these Ecto-1 and sell them on ebay.... Many buyers for sure! The best part is its to scale with the Plasma figures!

People complain that the hasbro ecto (which is small) costs 50 bucks, for this Ecto, just in materials and the 3d print service was 500 dollars , it takes a lot of filament to print and a lot of work to put together, so to sell these would cost like 1k minimum , I am sure they wouldn't sell like hot cakes :)

I also just finished mine. Used custom wired Gundam led for the lights. Posted my finished Ecto at Cults3d. And now I'm going to mod the wheels like yours so it can roll around

I just bought this model and in the process of printing it now. Recently got a Mono X resin printer so I'm making the whole Ecto out of resin for my Kenner figures. It's looking amazing so far.

Be ready, it will be really really heavy in resin.

@@RageONTv It's actually not to bad, but it's only at 130% for the Kenner figures so it's not as large as what you built. I've got everything but the roof stuff and all the clear parts like windows and lights printed so far. I plan on it just being a display piece and not having it role around. Just waiting on some paint for my airbrush and the lighting stuff while I print the roof parts. So far I'm really enjoying this project.

That is genius idea. Please post a video when you are done. If anything it will look too realistic for the kenner figures but maybe with the paint you can make it work, but still will look better and will fit all 4 busters! Also they will fit the new fright feature figures from Hasbro. So cool can't wait for you to finish it!

New subscriber here, I'll be printing one of these. Since I'm building the Eaglemoss ECTO (which are 1/8 scale) for my diamond select figures (which are 1/9 scale).This one I'll make the ECTO 1A from Ghostbusters 2 for my plasma/Mattel (1/12 6 inch scale figures figures.

I did see one , a while back, in the instructions there was a 1:1 printed picture of the full build in real scale , and the reviewer placed a diamond select figure next to it for comparison and they looked really small, like if you seat them, their legs won't touch the floor. You can also check on instagram, I've seen advanced builds with diamond select figures next to them or holding parts, and the parts are huge.

I wish there was a way to get the modified wheel files you used so you could add bearings and a rod.

You can do what I did and use a dremmel tool to carve the holes . It’s simple.

Because it was a huge task time and money wise to do this one and I promised I won’t do it again. So I really won’t . I did do a transformation of a Kenner car into a ghostbusters 2 with roof rack and all ! It’s here on KZfaq .

This is what hasbro should have given us, and I brought the ecto one plasma collection version, I expected it to fit the plasma figures, but it doesn't, how ridiculous is it that they made it in the 3.75 scale? I feel like I've been ripped off.

Yeah, maybe they will make one for the 6 inch figures down the line, it would be way cheaper a mass produced toy , I don't have a printer as I mentioned on the first video, the material and the print alone was $500 , not to mention the bondo, the paint, the glue, the time invested, this was a labour of love to be honest.
