Thank you , thank you, thank you ! I managed to sand my six ebony pins to fit perfectly , in about 30 minutes. I never would have thought to use my power drill and was actually planning to take them to a luthier. Your method was excellent. All the best from Greece !

Thank you! I just wasted $20 on bone pins and tried to sand but was getting nowhere so idiot me took a dremel tool. Wound up hacking away at the pins and one cracked. I was going to bo back to my plastic pins but I will give this a try!

Amazon sells a reaming tool with the proper taper to ream out the holes so the pins fit properly which would be a better option then sanding the pins and making them thin I would think.

My opinion is it's always better to modify the pin than actually drilling on the guitar especially if the bridge is a special one, ya don't want to mess up while reaming with cheap amazon tool rather than some cheap bone pins

@@TheGizmoGarage Get a tool from Stewmac, its what its made for, if your pins don't go most of the way down the holes are too small. You take your time and do a little at a time, its not that big of a deal. I'm not saying your wrong by any means though but I prefer solid bone pins personally, I actually cut with little hand saws into the bridge and top of the guitar so the string fits into the bridge next to the hole and use solid pins, it made a huge difference in the sound of my guitar. Its a known hack, you also cut an angle in the top of the bridge for the string to sit in and get a better break angle from the saddle.
