Hello I made my mark 3 Small sized 2K homemade projector is smaller than LG HU80KA 4K UHD projector. You can also flip it and watch movies on ceiling from your bed, the projector is bright enough for 100 inch screen and 50 inch screen is also good visible during day.
for all parts I paid less then $150

This is by far one of the best picture quality builds I have seen on KZfaq. Ive wanted to build my own video projector since early 2000's when the tech just wasnt there and MH, sodium or halogen bulbs were your only options. My facvorite part of this build though (and I havent seen anyone else doing this) is that you kept the LED heatsink on the Outside of the box. That just makes so much sense to me as far as heat exhaustion! I believe that with my air flow design in mind, I will only need 2 fans- 1 on the external heatsink and 1 on the top lid that will pull all air from Lens to LCD to LED. I will monitor temperature. Open area heatsink fan will most likely result in more noise but you have 4 fans, on lower voltage, so I am not worried about this. Thank you for sharing this video!!! I am tired of my 720P projector that is running 230 watts. I will start this build with 100W LED and may upgrade to 150W but shouldnt need 200W.

Damn! That projection looks NICE! I'm going to do a very similar build. I have a 300W LED however... hopefully it's not too powerful, I'm afraid it will burn the LCD... we'll see I guess xD I'm happy to see that your projection is very bright, because not enough brightness is a concern of mine.

Thanks :) Yes its bright enough not too much, ideal for watching before sleeping :D sounds interesting use 300w led !! don't worry you can use stronger fan and better for you will be cool it from down not from side like I do because air travel longer and end of LCD can't get proper cool effect. I try to put LCD middle two glass and glass works like passive cooling but you gat less sharp result.

@@marekbax513513 Hi again! I've built my projector and it works :D However I used a 4K screen, which was a mistake because the drive board only supports 24Hz. This makes the screen have visible flickering :( I'm planning on buying a 2K display instead, to get 60Hz. One thing I realized when building my projector is that the image gets mirrored through the projection lens. How did you solve that? Did you use software to mirror the image? Right now I'm using a mirror after the LCD, but it decreases the sharpness...

First of all mad respect picture quality size and everything is impressive for a diy build, but How did the projector hold up? Did you encounter any failure's? Im building mine once the parts arrive and im a bit scared about damaging the lcd so if you have any advice i would really appreciate that!

@marekbax513513

Hi Truetech, 250w LED is too bright for my type of using in night before sleeping 😴 😌 but fans are set on 45% you can use 250w and set fan on 90% or use more or bigger fan for better an silent cooling, I barely hear my projector it's important for me.

Amazing project(or)! One question tho, will there be some sort of tutorial or instructions on how to make this? You have inspired me a lot and I am very excited to make one my own :) Also, you mentioned the projected screen is 100", but is it possible to decrease this screen size WITHOUT moving the projector? So maybe with some kind of internal system?

Keeping the project similar: 1. How many degrees should the Condenser lens, 60, 90 or 120 be? 2. To project 120 inches, how many f / mm should the lenses have? 3. To project 120 inches, how far from the projector to the screen? Thank you!

I have 4f lens you can use old large format lens or something from china 3. 3 meters (9ft) if you want you can use 200mm lens or more to have distance larger. I use 180mm lens for shortest distance as is possible because I love to watch movies on ceiling have you some prototype ? Thanks

I přes strženou tuto vrstvu nebylo žádné zlepšení... Můžete prosím poradit?
@marekbax513513
@marekbax513513 4 жыл бұрын
Dobrý deň Václave, ak ste odlepili polarizačnu vrstvu tak na displeji neuvidite nič. najlepšie bude ak date vrstvu naspet alebo použijete polarizačny filter napriklad z fotoaparatu a umiestnite ho za objektiv vašeho projektora, treba s nim potočiť tak aby sa obraz ukazal, ja som displej umiestnil tou zrkadlovou častou vpred pretože som potreboval mať obraz zrkadlovo otočeny kedže môj projektor nema vnutorne zrkadla, vedeli by ste mi poslať fotku Vášho projektu na email lepšie vam poradim ked to uvidim, problem som s displejom nemal žiaden no predošli projekt s 10palcovim som mal presne ten problem čo u vas.. tiež som nevedel prečo tak malo svetla prechadza tak som odlepil vrstvu z LCD a to bol začiatok konca... vyskúšali ste displej či funguje ešte s podsvietenim ?

Hello Marek, where are you from ? I'm from Slovakia. always try to have led ass small as is possible you get sharper image. for you can use 200W led or 250W but you will need better cooling for LCD screen bigger screen in 2K is more transparent then small 2K lcd if you use 15inch light will go thought LCD panel better and you get brighter image. I was make experiment with 2x100W led (use two source of light is bed idea :D ) chose thicker fresnel lens and sharp lens your project will be more expensive and bigger dimensions but you can make night cinema on garden :D I make it often and projector is very bright also in dark scenes Thanks Marek
