Thank You so much for taking the time to make this tutorial! I am NOT big and tall but still got this chair b/c I wanted/needed a chair that was meant to last. I figured if it's meant for bigger people up to 350 pounds than it will withstand my 150 pound 5'3 body much longer than a chair that is actually made for people my size. Here's to hoping I'm right, fingers crossed! Assembling now, cannot wait to try it out!

This chair used to be sold in Staples here in the UK a few years back because I had one and it's the only chair I've ever had that lasted me longer than a year before breaking (I'm a big guy), this chair lasted me over 4yrs. The seat and the backrest are identical to the chair in the video, but bizarrely the plastic arms were different, they were better on my Staples chair because the arms were attached to the side of the seat, with two screw points on each side, so a much stronger connection between back rest and base (and longer arms). I don't know why they made such a silly design change! Still, this would have been a great chair for the money back in 2019, shame they no longer sell it!

@@thejungleexplorer Just realized they've changed the designs of the new chair, it's no longer screws at the bottom of the chair, they are on the sides. Design wise I like yours better but it's less weight on the screws on the sides, less likely for the chair's arms to fall off with presser applied.

Omg!! Thanks so much for this video because I got my chair yesterday and it didn't have not one piece of instructions. I sent Amazon a message I want my money back because I don't know how to put this together without instructions. It just dawn on me to look for a video!! When you put the seat onto the base, how do you know if the connection is secure or not? Theres no clicking sound or anything

There is no clicking because they are held together by friction and gravity

I was using a impact driver and it has no clutch settings.

Like the video and have the same chair...but with slightly different bracket that is attached already to chair...? Which I may realize why I it is no longer sitting right. You may or may not be able to help me with my issue..! Well, I had already had this chair put together perfectly, well, so I thought! 1-2 years in, I cracked the base where the welded was originally. I then dismantled the base and had it rewelded. I then put it back together, but the chair now sits funny...the front is lower than the back and pointing more towards the ground then straight to wall.(meaning, when I now sit in chair I can feel myself sliding down to the front tip of the chair) proving that the chair (to me) is no longer sitting flush but on a down slope as it now looks! Any suggestions 🤔

So, I know exactly what you are talking about. My chair started doing the same thing a week or two after I made the video. After studying the issue, I summarized that the chair had faulty engineering and that little plastic base was added to the kit to try to counter the problem, instead of resigning the chair. The plastic base was to act as a shim to push the front of the chair up. I ended up returning the chair to Amazon for a refund.

@thejungleexplorer lucky you got that all I got was chair was discontinued and offered about 150.00 reimbursement. chair is so nice and comfortable with for my weight increase. I decided to do that because it was the only chair I could find!

@@DeezNuttz504 Yes, it is definitely a very nice chair. I wrote Amazon a detailed letter about what was wrong and that they need to redesign the chair. I was sad to have to return it, because it really is one of the most comfortable chairs I have owned, but it felt like it was trying to dump me dump on the floor, and I knew the flimsy plastic jimmy rig shim they sent would not last long under my weight.

You have to cock the wheel over to the side while pressing down hard to get them in.

I have an Amazon Basics chair that's similar enough that I have to return. How do you disconnect the hydraulic part from the base?

It is actually quite difficult to do this. It is held on there by compression and friction. The only way to get it off is to hold the chair upside down by the base and use a tapping action with a block of wood as close to the center of the bottom of the seat as possible. You can't get it out by brute strength alone in most cases. You need sharp impacts of the tapping action to cause it to break loose. The issue here is that you don't want to damage the chair, so you can't really tap that hard and it is difficult to get close to the center with any reasonable force. It is a two-person job for sure. One to hold the chair and the other to tap. It is hard to do by yourself.

Hope this chair is better quality than the lazyboy counterpart from costco. It's been less than a year and the bonded leather is cracking on both armrest and now on the seats.

DO NOT TIGHTEN THE ARM REST BOLTS!!!! That was not in my Lockland pictures-only instructions. Tightening the arm rests pulls them in and spreads the top of the rests out where you cannot get the back bolted in place. I figured this out, loosened and the got the back in place. Once all the bolts were in place, THEN I tightened it all down. Lockland, you need to put that in big print within your pictures-only instructions. Thanks for the video!

I've been trying to put this thing together for an hour now and the back will not align with the screw holes no matter what. I have tried loosening the screws on the arm rest but has not helped at all. Any ideas?

It takes a bit of force to get it in. Are you sure you got them on the right side? It can be easy to get them backwards.

@@thejungleexplorer I noticed you to the plastic long piece off, the piece that is on the floor. That part elevated the seat. Right? I'm new at this so I'm just guessing. When I put my chair together I followed your video and noticed that the bottom of my seat was not flat like yours, then noticed you unstapled it and took it off.

This chair has the option to slide the back of the chair into place, but the only attachment point on my chair is two bolt holes on the side of the back of the chair...

@@donniedarko979 The unit I received had an engineering defect that caused it to lean too far forward. It would have been a good chair if not for that. It also was super slick and I was not too in love that either.

To make the back easier to install, don't tighten down the arms under seat screws. After installing back And tighten screws, then tighten arm screws Under seat. Lot easier . Just got done assembling my mesh back office chair, the back was the snag. Stopped found your video , vary helpfull

Is there anything not made in China. Not much. The EPA has put most manufacturing out of business in the US. We only have "Assembly Plants" that put together parts that were made in China.

I am assuming that you are new to KZfaq. Just in case you don't know this, there is a little slider bar at the bottom of the KZfaq player window that you can use to jump ahead to any point in the video. You are not required to watch the whole video like with a VCR. I just thought you might like to know this since you appear to be unaware of this modern KZfaq player function. I hope this helps.
