Today I bring to you all a DIY diffuser for the MK4 R32. This project has been months in the making and after failing on my first attempt to make a diffuser out of fiberglass, I figured this would be the next best step to make a diffuser. I personally love how the rear diffuser came out for the R32 and this project can be easily done at home if you put your mind to it. I will link all the parts used below so you all can try this project out for yourself! I hope you all enjoyed the diffuser build and if you have any recommendations for paint shops local to North NJ or NY please let me know in the comment section. As you can tell I need to get the bumper repainted lol.
Materials used ($100 total if you get smaller HDPE sheet)
- HDPE sheet .250"x48"x96" (You can get a smaller sheet if you want on Amazon 1/4"x24"x48")

Great job. Way better than the foam project, but as i said before, hats off to you for running with and idea and sticking with it it even if the first or second time didnt pan out. I would put that on my R32.

Looks good, I was thinking about making my own because I can’t find one to fit the stock exhaust on the mk5 gti, only ones available are ones for the r32 mk5. Mk5 r32 is two centre exhaust whereas the Gti has two to the left.

11:25 it sounds like the music is saying Malala’s doomsday lol I can’t like stop hearing it, anyways cool video! Really helpful, I was like wanting the foam to work.. that’s what I thought when I searched like diy diffuser and your snippet at the beginning was helpful.. so I think I’ll try to get a premade one since this is about the same price. Sorry bad writing for some reason lol

First of all can I just say, we all need friends like Justin. "Hey Andrew, I broke my ankle and it's now in a cast. Don't worry though, ill be round in the morning to work on your rear diffuser" 💪 As for the diffuser, the fit looks really good but personally If its mainly for styling and not functional I would have preferred the fins to be slightly more contoured instead of a vertical drop. Great work though, loving the commitment. Are you planning to finish off the edges of the diffuser??
@ThreePedalGarage
@ThreePedalGarage 3 жыл бұрын
Yep I’m planning on finning them off just need to get some time away from work to work on it. I’m planning on making a second edition of the diffuser that will be more active and actual work I Just want to get the style done first and then I can figure out the aerodynamic part of it.

Hey bro! Do u think if its possible add diffusor r32 and double exhaust on golf 4 115 tdi? If golf 4 115 tdi stage 2 it's probably overed 190 horsepower?? maybe i would go buy a golf 4 with esthetic r32 but not have diffusor r32 so I can add it?

I assume that this ''diffuser' is just for looks? With the acute angle and without a laminar flow from the front to the back all you have achieved is to add weight. Fanboys will probably love it though :-)

@@ThreePedalGarage Fair enough. Maybe you should have mentioned this at the start as it would have saved me, and possibly others, from wasting our time :-) However, as a tutorial on how to build a cosmetic diffuser it was well presented.
