It's true! Old guys do wear dad shoes. Old ladies buy them for their old guys - because men who wear dad shoes are usually too busy to buy their own shoes. One of the best things about being old is that nobody really cares what shoes you wear. It's a blessing in disguise because at some point your feet hurt too much to care about fashion. :)

Jeff, you are true inspiration, I build this shed (without door, windows and paint) in 5 days without prior expierence - sure I spent 1 month watching over and over your video + planing, it took some time to convert all dim to metric system - not all went well ( I made my shed with 5x10 cm studs thinking 2 by 4 is literally 2 by 4 :) find out that it isn't ) . I build my shed 3x3m so I had to make few changes. Thank you for all the tips and tricks -I felt like a PRO building it :) . I was watching this so many times that one evening my wife and kidz said : Oh no, not Jeff again :) - not once I was bored wathing it :) . Greetings from Slovakia

I built an 8'3 1/2" square shed with the sloped roof, following the videos. It's on a crushed rock base with 4x6 framing and 2x6" floor joists. I also put 1/4" hardware cloth around the lower 3 ft. to discourage critters, as well as hardware cloth around the base to prevent burrowing. After lifting the first wall with the sheathing on, we switched to putting up the walls and then sheathing them (to reduce the weight of what we needed to lift). I did not add windows, but have a vent; I built two doors instead of a single pre-hung door, and omitted the mower door in the back. If I were to do it differently, I would make the walls 7'8 1/2" so the assembled shed was 8' to match the sheathing dimensions, and I would double check the framing of the base for square before dumping 1 1/2 tons of crushed rock inside it and positioning the walls. All in all, your instructions allowed a petite 60+ woman to build a shed.

I've decided to build my own outbuilding to serve as an office since I'll be doing pretty much all remote work now, and between your shed videos and Larry Haun I'm feeling pretty darn ready to go. I've watched this three times already... :)

I really enjoyed watching this video. I've never seen someone build a shed from start to finish. I really like the time you took to explain the building techniques along the way. i really liked the roof concept of the roll out shingle product. Thank you very much! Definitely saving this video for later. John - Lake Ann, Michigan

Hey man, I was able to get a lot out of listening to this video, playing in the background as I am configuring my S. Florida carport into a multifunction (wood/metal) workshop. Many unique challenges posed by the subtropical "rainforest" climate, considering both day-to-day oppressive heat & humidity as well as the inevitability of tropical storms & hurricanes. Your explanations for why certain aspects of your design are required makes for a universal how-to with the only blanks being the nature of mitigating the impact of these regional variables . Thanks for sharing your experience without censor, the true hallmark of what an informational documentary should be.✌️

I can't wait to finish this. It's been really steady, calm, and to the point which came across informative but not making me feel stupid for not knowing something. I have been researching for a shed build and a chicken coop build for a few months now. Can't wait for that moment I feel confident to jump in and do it!

Would you - or have you - consider doing a very very basic set of DIY videos. Like here’s some construction math for beginners, here’s what your tools are and how to use them, here’s how to some of the principles that apply across projects. Really really basic stuff. I can swing a hammer and get thru the main homeowner stuff, but building things take some essential know how that I don’t think I have… yet.

I watched this video from start to finish, actually took me 4.5 hours with rewinding it, cool project, never thought it would be that much effort. Trying to build a shed at the moment on a uneven level concrete that was laid around my house. Don’t where to start and dont want to redo the concrete.

Also when nailing the lumber together I have found a little trick if the boards just won’t go flush by standing on them, use a 8d nail and pound it in at a 45degree angle and use your finger to pull the stud up as you use your thumb on the same hand to press against the plate. Works pretty slick

I'm blown away (metaphorically speaking)!! I've NEVER watched a 3hr video but his content was gripping. I've no intention of building a shed per se, but I do want to frame inside a larger shed, and I want to put a veranda/shelter at my backyard. This has given me a really comprehensive understanding of the construction and helped me figure what I can do and what I will need help with - this 57yr old woman ain't walking no roof truss panels up a ladder!! This is a brilliant tutorial and learned some great tips for using the circular saw (love the table saw hack) so I can now plan my projects for the coming spring. I must say too that although Ireland has been metric for some time now - my default is still feet and inches. Fantastic video, well done, and props to the camera man who, like every good war correspondent kept it real, and never left his post even when you were struggling. Thanks for all of this.
