DIY: How to Make Skeleton Spline Box Joints

In this video I show you how to easily make skeleton spline joints for your box corners. A great, easy woodworking DIY project to make your wood projects look amazing.
As I mention in the video, if you don't feel like following all the steps, you can stop half way and get some cool diagonal joints for your box corners.

I really like the skeleton spline. Good idea! Could you cut the first spline, flip the box around and cut the second, then use a spacer to offset set the box for the third cut, then flip the box again for the 4th cut? You wouldn't have to reset the sawblade at all, leaving the depth of cut identical, and the splines symetrically spaced from both each other and the top and bottom.Unless I am missing something, never tried this myself.

Thanks for tips on the corner joints, very helpful but have to pick you up with the chuck key left in the chuck of wood lathe, absolute no no 😮

I noticed that you disabled the brake on your saw. Did you think it might be triggered. Great explanation though.

Great observation, Garry. I did the joints solely as an example for the video and hadn’t let the glue set for a full 24 hours. Out of an abundance of caution I disabled the break for fear the glue might trigger it if still wet inside the joint.
