+GentleHeart001 Hello, did you say that tge fu hat too 32 mins or tge cake? And which won 1st place?? Tree X
@GentleHeart0017 жыл бұрын
Following along with your tutorial, my fur hat took 32 mins to make. The cake baked for 1 hour 40 mins and Both took blue ribbons. The fur hat took first place blue ribbon in soft hats catagory (the other hat catagory was hats made of leather or vinyl) and the pound cake took first place blue ribbon in the pound cake catagory. Do you have twitter or facebook? I can show you a picture.

I confess to being a tiny bit confused with how the lining worked until you finished sewing it and showed that the hat is basically a tube with a cap on both ends, that is then folded. This strikes me as really brilliant! I love faux fur and definitely want to make this hat.

I sewed along and it went fast. I wear the hat whenever I do errands. I would make the band that goes around my forehead wider next time so as to highlight the shape of the hat and hot the shape of my head. My first Stitchless TV video was the fur hat referenced in this video so this view and make was somewhat nostalgic.

Tree, you are the only person I've seen cutting fur properly! You were definately well taught! My Mother worked with real fur many many years ago, obviously, as its not the done thing anymore! She used the old fashioned blade with the guard on one side. I still have one of hers which I will be using shortly to make a gilet and hopefully a jacket for my granddaughter! The other thing about using the blade, it lessons the fur flying, and as you mentioned later, makes for better seams. Your brilliant, I'll probably tell you that every time I leave a comment! What about making a child's gilet or jacket in faux fur age 7? Then I can use all your tips! Haha......x
@StitchlessTV7 жыл бұрын
Janet Rodgers Aw.....you are so good for my ego!! Actually it was a viewer that pointed it out to me 6yrs ago when I 1st uploaded a film to make a fur infinity scarf. Before that I would do tiny snips into the wrong side of the fabric (how mad is that! ) Have thought about a fur gilet but need to look now towards the spring and summer. Would love to see yours though, if you get round to making it. Tree X

Tree, how very honest to attribute the cutting of fur skill to a viewer! Although ii wouldn't have expected anything less from you! I hope to make the Gilet for Elsie if I can, mind you my sewing list is long.....although Elsie will no doubt remind me!!

@@StitchlessTV It is literally very small, it looks like a toy and it has the only option that I mentioned to you; straight.
