Just found your channel. Very impressive work, I must say. You’re not asking, but I have a hack for you. That scale is, cool. If you install a couple of pin rods, and an inexpensive magnet. You can remove the device when not in use. I’m going to check out the first part of build. Again nice work.

I use a sharpie which leaves approx a 1/8" line,which is the same as the radius on my punch.

Had an idea, but I don't know if it would ever come in to play. Since the fingers are different widths, would maybe making the back guide slide side to side be a worthwhile upgrade? Can't think of a specific instance, but I haven't needed a finger brake yet.
@RathaSochenda
@RathaSochenda 3 ай бұрын
Yeah I thought about that have it slide on linear guide rails. Left to right.

Really nice press brake! :) Have you considered marking bend lines with your plasma torch? The powermax xp series can mark with 10 amps :) (just "cut" only the bend lines first, at 10 amps, then the outlines at full power) This creates a slight groove that you can use for aligning the press die (for example with diagonal bends) You can also mark spots for pre drilling

What k factor are you using in your sheet metal bending? There should be some number in your SolidWorks sheet metal settings around .4 to .5 k factor. This may adjust your bend line.
@RathaSochenda
@RathaSochenda 6 ай бұрын
I’m just using the default k factor of .5 but I think I may have to adjust it per material and thickness

Because the Vevor Pump has only a 2 gal tank are you concerned that the oil might exceed 140 degF during production runs? Do you think a digital temp gauge with a probe in the tank would be a good addition?
@RathaSochenda
@RathaSochenda 6 ай бұрын
I did runs of 30-50 parts. No concern at all really. Maybe if I did more but honestly if I’m doing like 1000 units I’m outsourcing it

add roughly half the thickness of the piece per 90 degree bend typically. Ex. 14 gauge aluminum is .080 thick and your bend allowance for 1 bend is .032 2 bends is .064 3 bends is .096...etc
