* White Glue(brand: Craftsmart, any white glue will do.)

I’m on a budget and looking for things around the house to make my own modelling paste. Back in art college I learned to make texture using just glue and toilet paper. Works great and has lasted a few decades so far. That being said I want a little more control to make designs and figured drywall mud and glue should work, and I’m glad to see I’m on the right track. Never thought to add gesso. What is the purpose of it and would it be a bad idea to leave it out?

A little bit of glue and gesso, those are binders so it’s up to you how much you would like to have. I like to have something like smashed potatoes…
