A contractor installed spray foam in my vented attic. I quickly realized I needed an efficient and affordable solution to reduce high humidity in my unvented spray foam attic. Open cell spray foam attic insulation can introduce moisture problems which leads to attic mold. As a result, I installed the MRCOOL DIY 36K mini split air conditioner and heat pump in my attic to prevent moisture problems by controlling air temperature and relative humidity. The MRCOOL DIY mini split has a smart controller with a new SmartHVAC app. With the SmartHVAC app, I can control the mini split from my phone. Additionally, the mini split smart controller integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control and automation. So.. your insulation efficiency was completely negated by the extra energy required to air condition a non-living space? Sounds pretty ridiculous.

Interested in information about the humidity sensors. After we had the addition roof insulated I then became aware of the moisture issue with doing so. Wanting to nip any potential issue in the bud. Seems a simple dehumidifier with open drain capabilities would have been significantly less expensive.

You must vacuum the lines before releasing refrigerant.

36k looks like way too much, how much sq ft is your house. I would have thought a 22 seer 9k would have been enough, after all the foam doesn’t hold that much moisture if you leave it on
