This is part 3 of a tri-series DIY Pergola build. All the timber used in this build, is either C24 or C16 graded european pine. Inspiration in building this were photos on pinterest, and methods used to making it has been influenced by other established youtube makers. I built this completely on my own over the weekends. I consider myself a reasonably competent DIYer, having built a number of projects in my shop. But the quality of workmanship you've got here is an order of magnitude above the typical DIY stuff here on KZfaq. Definitely worth the time to watch and learn! Thanks for posting.

Fair play to you Suj. Almost all Woodworking you tube makers I am following are actually professionals and have fancy shops or at least designated workspaces. You are like most of us, back yard woodworking enthusiast and working marvelously under these circumstances, which makes your videos even more special and relevant

Thank you. What I truly appreciate about your videos is that you show how to do these cuts and installation can be achieved with common hand tools that a normal homeowner might have. Truly DIY! I also enjoy how you demonstrate the painstaking sanding and sealing of the pergola to promote the longevity of the final product. I'll be watching your other videos to learn more about your post-support system as I desire a very similar build to yours.

My concept of a pergolas is totally transformed after watching your video. I refuse to settle for just another pergola in my backyard! Top Job Suj, You have been an inspiration to all handymen around the world, no short cuts... using all the tools to create the best and smartest outcome in workmanship, as well as crafting all your cuts at waist level with a little artistry added. Heaps of helpful Tips to keep a clean even cut timber line ( love the strapping of the beams together), many people will gain knowledge from your Video if they have the patience to follow your methods. Wow this is by far the best pergola I've seen yet. I want to build my own but have never worked with wood before. I appreciate the fact you gave your tool recommendations. beautiful job. im looking around youtube for ideas, tips to build my own.not sure why your videos dont have much more views. i thought i had a good idea on how to build my own , then i found yours, wow . i dont have all your tools, sander, planer router etc tho. but will definitely keep rewatching yours for great tips. id be so proud to build on like yours, so hope you are :)

Wow! Impressive build, my friend. One of the best DIY Pergola builds I've seen on KZfaq. Your plan, execution and attention to detail was outstanding. That pergola is built to last a lifetime (or longer). Fantastico trabajo. Miré los 3 capítulos y quedé sorprendido por lo elaborado del proyecto y la dedicación mostrada. Aparte vi que en ciertos momentos se valió de la ayuda de una y dos mujeres y hasta un niño hizo su aportación. Me impresionó también la cantidad de herramienta utilizada y el concepto de prearmar o presentar las vigas a una altura baja donde se podía trabajar con más comodidad y luego ya despues armarlo definitivamente con la seguridad de que todo quedaría ajustado. Se que el proyecto se llevó varios días de trabajo pero el resultado fue sensacional y por ello lo aplaudo. Quiza éste sea el único comentario en castellano pero no podía dejar de comentar pues en serio me gustó. Estoy próximo a hacer algo parecido y por ello fue que llegué hasta éstos 3 videos que en verdad tomaré en cuenta. Felicidades pues por esa hermosura.

It came out looking great!!! They make some copper caps for your posts that would look good as well as protecting the flat end grain.

Nice attention to detail with rounding the uprights. Not my choice of colour but really like the finish on it. I like the addition of the seats. I like that this should last many years in the UK weather because you’ve gone the extra mile in preparing the wood for the worst weather. Well done. I would love to see how you finished the whole patio area.
