OMG the EASIEST Sewing tutorial ive ever seen! THANK U THANK U! Now i can go back & make my shorts from the fabric that i thought i messed up! Def Liked & Sub'd! Please keep posting 'boho style' sewing tuts! -1 question, how do u measure out your elastic for waistline? I always hv trouble w/ that :/

What version on the Barton pattern do cut out to over lap? The short or long hemmed version?

Hi! When you sewed on the pom pom trim, did you need to adjust the presser foot pressure? I'm using the same narrow tiny pom pom trim and no matter what I do it seems like the presser foot squeezes the trim too hard which stretches it out and results in very puckered fabric. Unfortunately, my machine does not have an option to adjust the presser foot :(

I did not have to adjust, but each machine is different.

When I am sewing more layers, like the pom poms, I usually have to adjust my pressure from the presser foot higher. But while I was sewing that part sometimes the pom poms got caught on the front of the foot and that would pucker my fabric. Maybe watching for that would help?

I made them! Thank you for the easy tutorial. I learned so much. However, I think I have to remake them bc the front area scrunches/rides up so I'm thinking the small is a bit too small?? I'm not sure but the shorts are cute.

I was thinking of sewing this pattern on bike shorts to make a 2 in 1 double layer work out shorts, you think it will work?

Thank you, I love the look of these and made this pattern yesterday. My only problem is that the pompoms at the bottom keep flipping up when I sit down. Is this normal since the hem so narrow, or have I done something wrong? They fit perfectly, so it’s not that they are too tight.

I'd sew another line of stitching as close to the edge of the trim as possible.
