Awesome video and very helpful!! I read the comment of leaning the seat forward which gives more cable to play with. I also put in a small screwdriver to keep the latch open. Thanks Jon!!

Awesome video and I was able to make it work but my latch is still a little loose compared to the other one. Is there a way to tighten it or did I do something wrong? The seat latch works but still sticks out about 30 degrees when upright. Any ideas?

Rich one of the feeders on the cable line inside the seat has probably broken or the cable popped out of it there’s not much you can do for it being a little lose other than taking the seat apart and replacing that small cable guide.

Pretty sure its the same. But you won't know until you take the cap off.

My friend has an Acura and the latch is broken. Seems like she may need to replace whole thing. Where can she buy a kit if there is one?

At the dealer. Unless you can find exact what you need on line.

Same process. Remove the cap and take a pair of Needle Nose plyers and pull the cable while lifting your seat. Then follow the rest of the instructions in this video to swap the cable holder.

I’m pretty sure all Acura parts are very similar. So I would say yes.

2:45 how do you do that without the latch bothering you! It’s sooo hard and frustrating because it’s not allowing me to put the cable in. I need extra hands

Push the seat slightly forward. This takes tension off the cable. If the seat is all the way back you have less cable to work with.

Are we talking about the screws that hold the cap in place? You can get them at Home Depot or Lowes.

So my seat is folded down and even taking this apart and pulling on the cable it will not release to open the seat. How do I fix that??

You need two pairs of plyers. One to hold the black part and the other to pull the cable. This will release the latch.

Make sure the seat is in the up and locked position. Then attempt to release it.

@@mahdirageef1249 Not sure I understand. The latch is a release mechanism. There is nothing that locks the seat in the down position. And there certainly is nothing that holds them down once released. There is something else going on with your seats that has nothing to do with the latch. I will have to take a look at mine tomorrow in detail to see if I can help you out a little better.

What if the seat don’t release ?

Pull back on the seat as you pull the cable. This should release the tension that is placed on the cable. Then it should release.

I have a 2012 Acura MDX and there is no cover behind the latch with screws. The entire cover is one piece so there's no way to get to the latch wire. Any suggestions?

Just did it on my 2011 which also doesn't have the latch and screws. Just pop out that little center rounded cover and you can still fix it. Proceed as he says here.
