In this video I show you how to make a plague doctor mask from foam. You can make it steampunk like I did, or just leave it nice and plain.

The hat I am wearing is an altered version of my Steampunk Top Hat Pattern
The robe I am wearing is based on this pattern from Eqos on Deviant Art: www.deviantart.com/art/Pattern... I changed it a bit to make it wider and more flowing.

Hey everyone, I know this shouldn't need to be said, but just in case- This mask is for costume use only and will not protect you from any type of airborne particles. Though it might make people stay a bit further away from you😁

actually plague doctors never saved people, they basically counted how many died, the mask and suit did save them from the plague either.

They used a bunch of things that did actually work. Not as a cure, but it did let the victim stay alive a bit longer.

I just finished one today for Halloween tomorrow. My 11-year-old son wanted to be a plague doctor and this was just the coolest looking mask. It took an entire day (two if you count distractions and buying the supplies) and lots of time, but the result was great. In my 53 years, this was my very first EVER, EVER making a mask from scratch and it looks almost store-bought. I'm very pleased with the outcome and it's only because of the amazing pattern and detailed instructions on his videos. It wasn't boring either watching it over and over and over again so I could get each step. The music and humor kept my interest in continuing the instructions. Thank you for making it fun to watch and very detailed for us dyslexics. I think we are going to make the bionic arm next just because!

For piece number 12 I really recommend forgoing cutting out the paper and tracing it on. Instead, lay the pattern on top of the foam, take a needle and poke many dots through both layers where the lines are. Lift the paper and connect the dots. This is a much better option if you find it difficult to cut the pattern exactly. Amazing project to try! It turned out great :)

I am the WORST at crafts and making things, but I managed to make this mask! The hardest part was cutting out the craft foam pieces. The instructional video is super helpful and now I am a proud owner of a plague doctor mask!

Kougaji Sciacallo there are many tutorials with equally good results that are completely free, also i dont care how much time he spent making it because im not buying the product, i dont see the point in buying a template to cut 10 pieces of foam
