DIY T-Shirt Dress | Corset Dress + Shirt Tutorials | No Sewing! Easy T-Shirt Cutting and Re-sizing

Finally posting a dress tutorial! I love dresses, so I wanted to share an easy way to make a cute dress with items you probably already own :) AND there is no sewing or glue involved! This corset inspired technique also works to cinch in any baggy shirt, so get creative and re-size with me!
Materials used: a shirt big enough to be a dress, a shirt that is too big, scissors, something to mark your clothing, clothespins or some kind of clip, some ribbon or fabric cord OR a shirt with no side seams, something long and thin like a skewer or knitting needle.

omg!!! this is perfect. i just bought a t shirt dress and it's sooo cute but it's unflattering bc it does nothing for my waist. i'm def gonna do this to the back of the dress with some ribbon to cinch it. thank you!!!!

Can i use eyelets for the holes? Just worried it might stretch bigger/destroy the whole corset thing

How many sizes up would you get to do this?

Good question, I guess any shirt that has like 4 inches of extra fabric. The white shirt I used I think was a men's XL and the blue was a women's medium. I usually wear xs-s if that helps.

How do you prevent the holes you made from getting bigger? I've seen people use ilets(idk how to spell it sorry), but for holes this small i don't think you can us those. So how do i keep the holes from stretching and getting bigger

my trick is to make teeny tiny holes so that you have to stretch them to get the ribbon through. that way they the perfect size once they are already stretched. worst case scenario you can cut a new hole slightly outside the first one or add a stitch with some thread :)

its eyelets its cheep and easy to do but you need eyelets punchers to attach :>>
