Robert you are the man and this was a very good video. I'm glad I found your video before I attempted to make a facade. Very easy and straight up instructions. I always wanted a cool facade but the prices discouraged me from buying one they are kinda expensive. I now have a nice facade thanks to you!!! No one else had a solution as best as yours. Other Facade makers spent well over $100 and probably put in hours to make a facade that isn't even as clean as yours. Thank you very much Robert for sharing your idea!

Yo Rob kudos to you sir for sharing your wisdom with the dj community, you have really helped out alot of us who are just barely getting by on the $$ side, always a good thing when people like you share their projects unlike some aholes who come up with a project and put it up on youtube just to brag and showoff. So yeah Rob thanks again and big shoutout from DjHumpty of the LBC.

Nice!!! I almost pulled the trigger on the ADJ TT facade ($199.99) until I saw your video… Thanks for the save! I had the same idea in mind but went searching the wrong stores (Michael’s and Jo-Ann’s) and forgot about IKEA. Luckily, I already have the same lights.

thanks for this diy video. I made it today, though my frames were 12x16s and were $8 each. Tips for anyone planning to make it - scrub the plastic in circles so it'll come out more smooth and consistent. If you scrub side-to-side, some lines appear. Go to Home Depot and get small black hinges to connect the frames together. I made it so I'm able to fold all 4 pieces into 1 pile

This worked really well since I needed it for a few gigs coming up and didn't want to spend a ton of money. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for as far as the structural integrity of this facade goes. Drunk girls vs. Ikea facade = no more facade. Constructing a larger and more durable one and re-using the lights! Thanks for the video, homie!

First, you saved me a bunch of money and now I another tip! I found the frames at Dollar Tree for $1 a piece and the sandpaper. So, I created mine for under $10 but if it wasn't fro you I would have built mine out of wood and this one is light weight an doesn't get damaged like a wood/lycra frame would. Thanks, Again. Tip!!! Gorilla Tape for sure!!!

Robert hinsley I created two and found 12x16 frames at Walmart and did 5 panels and sanded both side for a deeper frost effect. It works like a charm. Just trying to figure out how to carry it and I may have to un-tape it and put in a gym bag to carry around. I may try to post a video. I appreciate your idea.

@infXshus_rhythm9 жыл бұрын
It's really up to you. The one I made in this video are an even height with the flight case when it is pushed out. However, I did have to put a couple of rubber stumps on the bottom front nubs of the flight case so it would clear when pushed out. I have a Numark ns7 so it's pretty bulky.

Thanks for the feedback Nick. You could even buy larger picture frames from ikea and still pay less than if you were to buy a pre assembled one online. Equipment is expensive and it can't hurt to save some sweet moolah!

Hi Robert Si you use the hinges in the plastic frames How did you put the hinges even if the picture frames must be plastic. Material Thanks I am making miy facade in a few days

The frames are made of particle board. If you have plastic ones, maybe you can glue them somehow or double sided tape.

What size picture frames did u use from ikea ?? The video had to make cut offs on the sizes and couldn't tell what the sizes we're. Thank you
@infXshus_rhythm9 жыл бұрын
They sell different sizes at ikea. The first one I made, I used all the same sizes. The second one I made, I used different sizes because of the glider on the flight case. It's all about your own preference really.
@frankjameseagles9670 Жыл бұрын
Old video...update. I went to IKEA and of course these frames are much higher now. You'd spend $100 just on the frames. I decide to buy cheap cord wood from HomeDepot and use white lycra material. it ended up costing about $110 but honestly I wished I would have just purchased one from Amazon for $120 and called it a day. It would have even came with it's own carry bag. It was fun building something from scratch, but time wise...it's cheaper and faster just to buy the table top one.

@ramseycoates91628 жыл бұрын
This is awesome. But, how did you mount them together?
@infXshus_rhythm8 жыл бұрын
you can either use duct tape or metal thin hinges from Home Depot for $7. there about 36 inches long so you can cut them into 3 and mount them that way.
@sylvansencil68689 жыл бұрын
NIce video bro! I live in Sac too. What area of Ikea did you find the strip light thing? Is that just black duct tape? How does the facade hold up after a few gigs? I appreciate your help. I'm gonna have to try this.
@infXshus_rhythm9 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the good feedback bro. I initially used carpet tape, but the duct tape worked better. I eventually mounted them together with some hinges I found at home depot. It's a 36 or 42 inch hinge strip. I just cut it in 3 even pieces, spray painted them black and mounted them together. Just be mindful of how the facade folds and make sure you face the hinges the correct way. I have been using the facade since I made the video. 4 months now I think. It's holding up great. I have another that I used all the same size (smaller) frames. Just know that the frames are not that great quality but are inexpensive to replace. The film is plastic and can Crack easily if not stored properly. They sell the lights in the lamp department for $29 at ikea. I have the 4 piece strip unit. The lights have both a slow transition and a hard transition function. The slow is great for dinner and the hard is awesome for dance time! You can also set it to a specific color if there is a color theme.
