The World Coin Stock albums are really worth doing. The Lucy Clay Extruder DIes can work out expensive so having a safe storage system is a great investment. If you have the Lucy Clay Extruder, it also makes your life so much easier as well as avoiding arthritis in your hands or easier if you already have arthritis. An electric drill will also help preserve your elbows and shoulders as we get older. My husband was a Electrical Technician before retiring so he always pushes me to making things easier to do.

Wow Sandy, this is such an awesome & creative idea!! I'm always always always looking for new textures, as I'm sure we all are, and this is the best idea. I love simple yet deepish textures to use for the backings of the large flat beads I make for necklaces or even the inside part of a bangle or cuff bracelet, and now you've shown me that I can make my own simple yet deep textures. Thank you so much.. you're always so helpful! I keep hoping that I can become a Patreon member- it's still not a good time for me to do so, but I really look forward to the day I can

Fantastic idea Sandy! Will you be demonstrating the technique you used to create the turquoise texture shown in the initial shot, bottom right? I love that and can't figure out the magic you used to create it.

Such wonderful ideas!!! I see so many textures in the natural world that I would love to turn into texture sheets and I didn't know how until this video. I am gonna have to get some of that molding putty as I think pushing clay onto a tree to get the craggly bark texture would surly be a mess with the pieces coming off into the clay. Does the mold putty have a tendency to grab onto loose pieces, or does it let them go nicely after curing? Wondering how the bits of bark will do with this medium. Thank you for all the information and any help you can offer.

Sorry I'm just getting to you, Jen. The silicone molding putty releases pretty well, but if you have very shaggy bark with lots of loose bits, some may stick. I have done some molds where I had to go in with a nail brush to scrub it out.

Thank you for showing not only the textures but how to go about creating them. Extruder...hmm. 1 questions please. you would make this pattern and then make a mold to make the reverse and then that would be the deep texture for all the shaving techniques?

I'm not sure about that, you'd have to do some experimenting. I think the shaving techniques need a fairly flat surface above the embossed texture (so you can remove all the clay that was pressed in.) It might be difficult to achieve by hand. But give it a try!

@@SandyHuntress I am also thinking that shaving would damage the clay texture sheet. Silicone is more tolerant.

@@eileengavinlarsen4509 I know the shaving techniques are sometimes done on rubber stamps, but I'm not sure how much more prone to being damaged they are than the silicone.

I wish I could spend a couple days with you and just watch the creative ideas flow!! I’m wondering if these would work double duty for paper crafting as stamps? It’s a little hard for me to envision the opposite of it - I understand what you’re saying, but I think I have issues with spacing or something. When I took karate and we learned how to do something on the right side, it was always difficult for me to flip it to do on the left side. I guess that’s not spacing - I’m not sure what it’s called but I definitely have a hard time with it! 😂😂😂 Thank you for sharing this. I think I’m going to put an extruder on my list of things to get and the coin storage system is brilliant!! 💜

Oh, that would be fun to spend some time creating together! I think some of these would work as stamps for paper and ink, but you'd have to do some testing to get a feel for what types of designs work best.

I'm the exact same way.. it's embarrassing sometimes! And trying to reverse directions when driving?? Ugh.. it's a nightmare!

Yeah, I sometimes mix up my right and left. (To my husband's exasperation.) Somewhere I heard it's people with a strong left brain/right brain connection, so I'm sticking to that story. :-D
