Well, I’m not super coordinated and the head of our mallet is much bigger then the head of the hammer. When I tried the mallet I kept hitting and denting the can above the bottom edge, lol.

I bought it from the link below, but I will say that someone on the IOD Creative Tribe FB group page told me that FolkArt makes a moss effect product. I love my crocodile that you can use to punch hole in the sides of the can..so worth it as a time saver...thank you for your instruction

I recently bought one for making journals. I never realized it would punch through tin, but that is a good tip! Does it dull the punch going through tin?

Hi dear Lady. Well, why don't you buy a vice ? Your work will go on easily, and importantly... safer. The couple of tin "lips," pressed into a vice's jaws, will connect each other perfectly.

As I said in the video, you have to use cans that have the lip on both ends to be able to use a can opener to get both ends removed. 😉👍🏻

I've just come across your video on this, will need to look into it a bit more but a couple of questions please. What paint do you use? Can they stay outside in all weather's or are they for indoors.? Alsi do the tins go rusty and come through thd paint? Many thanks x

I use chalk paint. If you watch the next video, I show the next steps. I would not leave them out in the weather; I think a covered porch would be fine, but these are just for decoration. As far as rusting, I think the only way that would happen is by continuous exposure to the elements.

I tried this tonight but can not get my cans to open on the other end. It just dented the can. What type of can are you using? Thank you!

The bottom of the can has to be made like the top of the can; there have to be rims on both ends for a can opener. If the bottom is rounded it won’t work. I did a “shorts” recap that explains this better. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b6uWYMShqreRnoU.html
