Mine is 8k btu, it will not keep up in 90 degree weather. But at night it does fine. I like not having to idle. I’m working on trying to fix an auxiliary fuel tank. My little Jenny only has a gallon fuel tank. Last high idle about 6 hours

I don't think many portable ac units would work for me where I run. I run flatbed between Laredo and Phoenix most of the summer, I had several days in Laredo where it was 121 degrees in the shade, the interior of the truck was reading 135 degrees. Laying over in Eloy AZ several times, with absolutely zero shade, the temp in the cab was 127 degrees with truck ac running at max. It took 7 hrs to cool down to 90 inside before the sun went down. You are getting 74 degrees when it's 85 outside, it would be too hot still for me.

I run the Ryobi 2300 with the Bluetooth feature it is amazing along with a Toshiba 12,000 BTU (so it claims) takes about a little over a gallon for my 10 hour resets. I removed my passenger seat and it's the best investment I have made! I haven't used it in Washington or Oregon but definitely in California.

I got a 3500 watt predator from harbor freight. 2 year warrenty. If it fails I just take it back to harbor freight for free exchange. I bought a 8000 btu ac unit hytachi from home depo. 5 hrs on a 2 gallon tank.very quiet generator.

Stay away from tripac, it's like the emissions trucks when they first came out, breaks down all the time. They can't even get some parts for it because it's on back order.

I ran a Predator 2000 for 3 years with my 8000. BTU Portable AC. I upgraded to the Predator 4400 with 3500 running watts in an open cage design. More power to handle the compressor surge, open cage because it is so much easier for me to service. I am not a mechanic, but watched a lot of videos and read many reviews and now know exactly what I need to do to take of the generator and AC unit. This is my 5th AC season and I run in the South, Southeast, and Midwest primarily. I also invested in the Eco Flow Delta to run additional hotel loads in the truck when I don’t need the ac or generator on. I can run all my appliances for cooking and TV with no problem with this unit. I use the generator to recharge it. Solar panels are really not practical in my operation, but I can recharge the Delta in usually less than an hour. The Delta is pricey though. I tried to be cheap in the beginning too, but I’m very happy with my winter and summer set ups now. Hope this further helps someone

Check out the predator inverter generators. My 3500w gives 8hrs -12hrs on a 2.5gal tank. You may also want to ceramic tint the windshield, will cut the heat dramatically.

I live in the Houston area and use an 8000 btu window unit to cool a 200 sq. ft. room. The walls are 2x4 studs with ordinary R11 fiberglass insulation. Keeping it 72 degrees isn't a problem. You'll need a bigger generator though.

I recently upgraded my system I found a Chinese hvac app that mounts to the truck batteries and it runs 12 volts from the truck it self so I switch to that system it saves all my legroom in the truck. The only issue I have now I am thinking about getting a solar panel to recharge my truck batteries as I don't want to run my batteries dead but it cold really cold 12000 btu

Oh boy. The generator I bought is only 2000 watt. The portable a/c unit I bought is a black and decker 8000 btu. Sounds like it will work but I’ll have to keep it on ECO MODE. To not put as much strain on the generator. But with my freightliner cascadia it shouldn’t take that much to cool it down

You can save allot of money with the Tornado fan, charge off reefer power. Cost $.0 extra a night. Currently 104 in truck though.

Thanks for making this video! I am still trying to figure out the APU that will work best for me, I have a Volvo with an electric Dometic APU, I recently installed the battery bank for it because it was missing when I bought the truck, but I am still trying to get it right, get it figured out, I am experiencing an issue with it going out on high-headpressure, might be the condition of the condenser coil, all the other components look good, real good except for the condenser coil I had to pursue this route first since I already had the equipment on the truck but I am glad to see your video, I know I will figure it out eventually Ain't got no problem when it is cold outside, the Ebspar heater is enough, just this heat, and like you said, when you waiting for a long time, it sure does help I just can't bring myself to idle my truck, for the time being I am hanging out inside the Flyimg J, gonna pickup tomorrow

Cant beat the Harbor Freight. Get the Warranty. They will switch it out no questions asked. I love my 4375 inverter. $500. Runs 10+ with my 12,000btu a/c

When the dealer was put on the thermal king on my truck he was shocked as surprised like I was it was 12 500 and then all the sudden now oh at the time it’s 14 500 on top of that not to Nick pick they didn’t connect the bunk heater to the APU and a which at the front. Just to add insult to injury that’s the APU itself it did not include installing was 15 something in change Edit: before anybody point out yes you can get a discount if you use a company DOT and or MC number in Taxes

I have a champion to run my camper 4500 watts $900. Harbor freight makes the predator. Both are quite and a 3.5 gal tank.
