Have you ever looked around your kitchen and wondered why we allow our stove tops to take up so much of our valuable counter space?? I mean, maybe you use your stove more than me (which is likely based on the amount of frozen pizza in my freezer haha!), but even still, when it's not in use, it takes up 2 1/2 foot of our counter top!
When did this become acceptable?
Take back your counter space with this easy to build DIY wooden stove top cover! Not only does it protect your stove top from crumbs, dust, and scratches, but it also gives you a nice wooden top to use as extra counter space. And if you use a food safe finish, you can also use it as a cutting board.

Absolutely LOVE the idea to use a level while clamping to keep the wood from bowing. Brilliant! This cover turned out great! Thank you very much for this video ;)

Fun fact I have the same exact owl flower pot, and I have my kitchen utensils in it, too... lol Really like this design. Could double as tray. 😗

I watched your video as one of a dozen when I was looking at making a stove top cover. Your design really stood out to me and I liked it better than ones in all the other videos I had watched. I ended up making one like yours. I haven’t yet checked out any of your other videos but one suggestion would be to do a voiceover and talk about what you are doing.

Love all of your video's and great ideas, I am just wondering for this build could you notch out of couple of handles in the sides so upside down it would double as a serving tray....or did you do that and I missed it.

This is beautiful, could you share how you keep you keep such great control of your router. I've never seen corner holders with the band on it. What kind of clamp system is that called, and where would you buy one?

Lauren, they are called Band Clamps. You can find them in Home Depot and Lowes if you are in the US

I really like the result, well done ! May I ask what did you use to stain it ? Was it oil ? Also which color is it to get this result color ?

Hi! This is a Minwax early American stain with a polycrylic clear coat. It’s not a good safe finish for cutting on or anything so j I’m don’t advise using that if you plan to use it as a cutting surface
