Hi, I thought your capacity meter was really good, so I bought one ..... however, when I came to search for the Resistor (5W 75.Ohm JD), I hit a stumbling block in that as a Mechanical Engineer, I have no idea what the JD in the I.D. number signifies, as I can only find ones with the suffix RJ, is there an easy way to describe whether it makes a difference, or is it a requirement to match the lot ? Thanks a bunch, hoping you can answer this, as I'm stuck 🙄

The batteries in the video come with nickel-plated steel tab pre-welded. Make one's life a lot easier as if is difficult, if not impossible, to solder direct on the cells.

What bms module you use? I use 3s 25A and the board cutoff supply if suddenly press the drill.. What is the suitable bms for 12v drill?

this drill has bms inside it. the battery has only overheating protection

Hi Physics Talk. bosch batteries have no integrated circuit balancing, the discharge circuit and short circuit are in the drill body. and for charging it is in the charger

@@CMCdiy FYI: I have Bosch original battery pack (label says: made in Hungary), and it is balancing. There are 2 connections from intermediate connection points going into balancing circuit.

hi. Use 18650 High Drain batteries. discharged have a value of 2.5v and charged 4.2v. standard voltage is 3.7v You can find the product bellow in the description

18650 batteries with 10000 mAh do not exist. About ~3500 mAh is the maximum capacity that 18650 batteries can currently have. Some no name chinese companies produce cheap 18650 cells and claim that they got a capacity as high as 10000 mAh or something like that. That's just a lie. You would be lucky if you even get 1000 mAh out of those cells. Furthermore, the performance of those cheap cells is so bad, they are basically not usable for power tools. Get yourself some decent 18650 replacement cells from a known brand like Sony, Samsung, LG, etc.

hi Simon Schäfer is right. 18650 batteries are no larger than 3500 mAh. Attention, if you buy for the drill, take Hight Power Discharge 30A-35A.

@@db1236 The temperature sensor is for battery only. in the charging circuit, it has the role of giving the command to stop the charge, when the battery heats up, so as not to damage it. so if you want to power the drill directly from another source, the sensor is not connected. You do this artifice at your own risk

better measure the new batteries before work on, esp. if bought from Aliexpress, my experience 1/3 was failed/drained. So it would waste your time later found this out.

Have you tested these liitokala batteries. Most of them are fake and do not have the indicated capacity.

But lithium batteries don't need a BMS (Battery Management System) for charging and discharging till a certain voltage to protect the batteries? Normally all lithium ion needs it. Anyway nice work there.
