I have a 2016 Audi S8 with the darker tinted rear lenses, and full factory LED, no serviceable bulbs. Any suggestions for replacing the dim factory reverse LED chips with something that is substantially brighter?

So I did this and am unhappy with the way the lens cracks around the adhesive... I worry gluing it back together will still show the places it cracked apart and being a restomod that is not good enough... Going to try another lens and find somewhere lower to cut the housing hopefully... Ideas?

Excellent video. But, wouldn’t you think that epoxy glue would be difficult, if not impossible, to open again if some of the LEDs go bad again? I will try to use a milder glue. Like regular plastic glue, or Goop.

Hello I have the same model like you presented I would like to make a retrofit for rear signals, replacing the bulbs with led strip, dynamic. Do you think is that possible? I also have to remove the red cover of leds. Many thanks !!

There is a bulb in the housing. When I replaced the taillight I could not find a wire to plug into that bulb. Any ideas?

Just a tip. Next time when removing the cover just put some petrol (gas) on the seam with a syringe. The petrol dessolves the glue. You won't even need the screwdriver

I just ordered AMS OSRAM LS E6SF-V2BA-1-1 LED, Power TOPLED®, Rojo, Montaje Superficial, 2,4mm, 50 mA, 2.15 V, 633 nm, is that the right led for 2010 A4 B8? Also I'm concerned about cracking the lens, should it be heated with a heat gun before prying open?

That type of glue is not affected by heat. just use a nice plastic tool and go very slow and carefull.

hey guys, i just did this fix, for your info For Audi A4 2008 the wavelength of the led should be 625 nm, not 633nm Osram makes both models unfortunately i replaced the wrong ones and the whole car looks orange with one red tail light. I ordered my parts from farnell.
