I cannot thank Bellagio Hotel and Casino enough for inviting me to check out the rooms at the newly renovated property. It was the ultimate luxury experience - from the automated drapes to the cloud like beds and exquisite bathrooms designed by the Gettys Group.
In today's video I share 8 Interior Design Tips/Hacks on how to achieve the luxury hotel room look at home! These tips are not only based on my experience at Bellagio, but also based upon an insider interview I got with Matt Swope and Ben Nicholas of the Gettys Group which is the Interior Design firm responsible for these fantastic upgrades at Bellagio Hotel and Casino.
I discuss everything from shower/bathtub combos, lighting, and color to trim, electronics and multi functionality! Regardless of your design style, applying these tips to your home's design is going to elevate your space in terms of aesthetic and user-friendliness!

The number one for living luxurios is: cleaning! That's the hotel feeling, fresh towels, room service... Every room looks better when cleaned. No matter if studio apartment or big mansion. A smaller investment you can make are unified, high quality towels. 600 density or even higher. White is classic because they can be bleached, but stick to one colour and splurge one time. Donate your clean, mish mash but still good towel collection to an animal shelter. They always need towels.

The shower thing is so spot on. One apartment complex I once lived in had the bathroom designed that way and entering the bathroom always felt light and airy to me.

It’s actually healthier to shower first before going into a tub (if you’ve seen skid marks in your underwear, you will understand how important it is to get rid of that BEFORE going into a tub)

FYI Bellagio is a small town on Lake of Como , placed right on the starting of ramification of the lake. The name means litterally "Nice staying" "nice place to stay" .

Definitely lighting options are a big piece of that multifunction space like a hotel room, just stayed somewhere with the sink outside the shower/toilet room that was directly in front of the door - this actually worked well because it functioned as an entryway table with mirror as well as the sink. They had a light centered over the vestibule, a light centered over the sink, and a light built into the mirror! All within a 4'x4' square space.

Great video. I stay at the Bellagio every year and I was disappointed that they removed the tub & shower combo. But I understand the esthetic of the times and now I appreciate the changes. The Bellagio has always been up to date with the modern style with the conventional style into one!

This is an amazingly exciting collaboration! Kiva I am really impressed. The bedroom & bathroom is beautifully, elegantly & luxuriously designed...also smartly planned & appointed. I could visit there, I can live there, except that its my aim to bring a bathtub into my life. I feel cheated when there is no bathtub at home. But I would thoroughly enjoy myself inthat Ambiance as a guest.🤩🤩

Love the TV idea. I know I would love a video on how to de-emphasize the TV. Most of us do have to live with a TV because we or important members of our family watch TV on the regular. Knowing how to make it about more appealing would be helpful.

The most important thing about that pop of color coming from the orange chair is that it is a subtle "pop." It also blends with the room, and not just because the idea is echoed in the luggage stand. They chose a rusty, earthy tone, so it doesn't draw the eye from the rest of the decor, and doesn't require an exact match in its echo. It looks like it belongs in the room, while still providing some color interest. Perfect balance between bold and blending.

Hotels have cleaning crews. Shower doors require constant care. I love my shower curtain to hide the shampoo bottles, etc.

You are sooooo right about technology! I liked your advice about doing something to hide the TV (or at least distract from it). I did my small living room in mid-century modern but I had an out-of-place 32" black flat-screen TV. I'm not handy and don't have many tools, so I had the good folks at Home Depot cut some wood and I bought some stain, wood glue, and legs for the project, and I built a shallow (12" deep) television cabinet that sits against the wall and encases the screen. It doesn't even have any doors, but because the screen is encased in a low wood cabinet with legs, it evokes the 1960's without being bulky. Ha-ha. A neighbor asked me if it was a fireplace and I said, "No! It's a TV!"

Good video. Love the murals over the beds and the shower. Interestingly, I can’t remember that I even turned on a tv in a hotel (even pre-pandemic). We watch our lap top or tablet for anything we need. I’m wondering when TVs won’t be a part of hotel rooms.

What is the table height he was referring to that was edited out?? Also, call me crazy but I am dead set against clear glass enclosures around the shower. My shower time is my personal time where I wanna relax, shave, scrub n exfoliate, lather up, etc... and I just feel super uncomfortable knowing that someone may need to use the bathroom or grab something real quick and I don't want to be gawked at while I'm in a not so good "pose", ESPECIALLY while shaving my lady parts!! I hate the feeling of feeling like I'm on display. Any thoughts or ideas on something thats just as airy but yet private?

As for mattresses, a lot of hotels actually post online which ones they buy! I just found hotel quality pillows that sleep like a dream that I will be sharing soon!

Shower curtains are my pet peeve. Even my tub shower has a frameless glass wall without a door that addresses the water sprinkles that will occur while showering.
