Wonders of Snæfellsnes Peninsula in the West of Iceland. Djupalonssandur (Deep Lagoon's Sand) black pebbles beach and Snæfellsjökull Volcano (immense mountain, active central volcano in the background at 01:46, setting for Jules Verne´s novel Journey to the Center of Earth), west Iceland. The name Sands of Deep Lagoon derives from a small greenish lagoon in the lavafield (seen at 01:44 in video) which is not actually deep at all (17 m) as ancients imagined. Scattered iron pieces - shipwreck of British fishing vessel from Grimsby who stranded here in storm some decades ago (most of crew perished). On the beach at 01:00 you also find "fishermen rocks" (lifting those was a type of entertainment) as there was a summer fishing station there. At 06:15 "Singing Cliff" from which "singing" had been heard in past.

A beautiful beach. I would imagine that the winter storms and waves can be very powerful.

There is no other country like Iceland with this special landscape. Many humans have not the chance to visit Iceland but you made it possible. Thank you. 😊

I love places like that with mini canyons, mini valleys, and rocks to climb, like a little fairy land. Unfortunately health problems mean I could never get there, so thank you for allowing me to see it.

Thank you for sharing. I was able to visit in 2021, and it is a magical place. The shipwreck on the beach, stories of a underground passage from the lagoon to the ocean, large round rocks used by fishermen to lift and show their strength.

That's pretty spectacular. Nina is so cute when she's in your drone shots. I'm curious if the water at that beach is ever warm enough for swimming. I doubt it, except for polar bears. 🐻‍❄

It is always amazing to see these new landscapes on an island that is still growing. I live in Australia, an ancient island that is weathered and beaten. I think I saw somewhere that our last volcano erupted 60,000 years ago (but I could easily be wrong). Thank you for bringing Iceland to the world. We came for the volcanoes but we stay for the rest of Iceland.

What an exquiste shoreline you have Roman and Nina. It reminds me of the land of my birth, New Zealand. Aussie has been home for nearly 50 yrs now and there are some radical shorelines here also ,developed from many varied backgrounds . Love how jubilant Nina is when interacting with you on the drone. I'm thinking how cold it must be as you have warm clothes and gloves on Nina!! Thankyou for sharing more than the volcanoes with us. Much love & blessings from Australia where it is winter and probably warmer than your summer day. 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏✌️👍👏🇮🇸
