I think Quik is perfect where he is. He's so precious why would we want to share him with mainstream. With mainstream comes more issues. Quik is still paid and still have the freedom to walk down the street in peace. He's sooo sexy after all these years. I'm a southern girl, yet he is still to this day my most favorite westcoast rapper.

This song and video shows why Quik was never PUSHED and PROMOTED to the level and status of Dre. He elevated past the degenerate gang banging, weed-head image and caricature that was created for west coast rappers to follow by the industry. It’s great to be able to look back in retrospect and actually see this. He transcended into an actual musician that was conscious of his influence and its power over others. The industry doesn’t reward that.

Sadly, violence and lewdness in music is what keeps the top brass living in luxury while society suffers the effects DJ Quik gave us a masterpiece with this track even adding a certain early 70'd Sugar hill gang hip hop flavor

Dj Quik has a unique rap style. Absolutely complete. He has replaced all my favorite rappers, he's at the top of the food chain. Love the rhythm, the video, everything. I showed this to one of my friends whose not so much into hip hop and he found this amazing. Now he knows who dj Quik is.

Crazy how Quik saying in the song don't speak certain things or they will come back to you, yet in this very song he speaks on how he is accused of Notorious B.I.G's murder after the Quincy Jones party after the Soul Train Awards and now here we are November of 2021 and he "IS" in fact being accused of Notorious B.I.G's murder. Also the car that he had was the same color but his license plate didn't match with the plate number that the cops had. That's how u can tell he didn't have anything to do with it.

This album defined my life in the 8th grade. I'm tellin' you somethin'. I have *really* good memories behind it. *_A certain someone_* bought it for me.😍 We were in the record store and he saw that I wanted it, but I didn't buy it right then and there. I was actually gon wait for my allowance that week, but the next thing I knew...he bought it for me. I still have the cd along w/ the letter he wrote for me.💌💖 Anyway, this is always gon be my jam as DJ Quik's music is always thorough. Trust. Why is he so doggon underrated? It kinda bothers me...
