I love the spectrum of dancing skill, from J None (just join a boy band already) to Layne (peak Dad dancing 🤣).

This is just sheer joy. They make the dancing fun but it's pretty accurate. Geoff used to say people expected him & Earl to be the other way round vocally from their look. If you want to hear Eli rap go back to their cover of My Shot from forever ago, you'll get to see Tony too. Layne also has a beautiful light singing voice on top of the drumming. This one is full of cameos as well as Rek, you've also got Ashley (Eli's wife), Cyndi (Layne's wife), Kathy (Geoff's wife) & Nick (Earl's husband).

Their queen in 5 minutes has an entire story around Earl they incorporate the clever medley around. They have so many good pieces, especially with full costumes and characters, but... their masterpiece is an acapella cover of Metallica's Nothing else matters

One thing that floors me about Eli is his ability to spit out the Korean lyrics in the BTS section.

The description I've heard of Earl's voice is that it's like a laser beam. It just cuts through everything.

The boys met Kristin Denehy when they competed on The Sing Off in 2013. She's an amazing choreographer (and dancer!). Home Free uses her a lot for their video and show choreography as well (they met her at the same time as VP). This video was a labor of love by VoicePlay for their patrons. When they hit a specific patron milestone (back in 2018), the special perk for hitting the milestone was to allow the patrons to select what song they would do. Well...they picked Boy Band Medley, and the guys went ALL OUT. 😁

One thing you will notice is that all of our boys have incredible ranges. Eli will sometimes sing bass for Geoff live if he's occupied with the melody. The person with the greatest range is actually Layne. He says himself it doesn't necessarily sound the prettiest, but he can go really high and technically lower than Geoff using special techniques. For some more subtle rapping from Eli, and honestly one of my favorite videos because I love the concept, you should check out one (out of two) collabs they did with Kurt Hugo Schneider, this one being their Twenty One Pilots Mashup. When you watch the Panic videos, people often suggest to watch their Billie Eilish in 3 minutes first. It was filmed after Panic parts I and II, but the video is a prequel to the Panic videos. It tells a full story, with a lot of people going with the theory that their Queen in 5 minutes is the finale. Of course, watch whatever you want in any order you want, just thought I'd put that out there. Also, never feel bad for just vibing with VoicePlay. 😁

Welcome to VP with Earl. He has the high voice of an angel. You need to watch some more of the older videos with Earl to get a true understanding on how much we love him. J is amazing and I really hope that when he is finished in the Navy he comes back to VP full time. I love this medley so much. It is such a clever collection of songs.

The guy that says "You should see the size of his wallet" is actually Earl's boyfriend at the time (now husband). Earl left in 2020 near the beginning of the pandemic. J.None is now in the Navy but comes back sometimes for collabs. He was in Friends on the Other Side and Nothing Else Matters... Love watching you vibe with our boys! 💗

J None is also in Superstition which is absolutely phenomenal, and Omar Cardona jr is featured, Omar was actually on The Voice and was in the top 5. Check that out it’s an original by Stevie Wonder, but VoicePlay made it super good! Also Tennessee Whiskey is soooo good.

Definitely do Queen in 5 mins. You'll literally love it. And the 90's, one of the hay days of boy bands, was the time they (and me) grew up... Man, that were WEIRD times.

First, Earl was a founding member with Geoff and Layne (1997). He left in early 2020 for undisclosed personal reasons. Second, when they were touring, they included Boy Bands in the program. There are poor quality videos of them live as far back as 10 years. Not always the same lineup of songs, but always entertaining! Third, the group in the line "You should see the size of his wallet" are Eli, Layne, and Geoff's wives and Earl's husband. I am an old lady, so didn't know most of these songs. Didn't matter because Voiceplay could sing the phone book and it would be wonderful!! If you are at the patron level where you can see the Behind The Scenes videos, check out Dragonborn Comes. Geoff and Cesar are dancing quite a bit between takes. Funniest thing I've ever seen!

J.None is def fine! His voice is also gorgeous and the fact that he’s super nice just makes him the whole deal. He has some music worth checking out on his own channel, and a rendition of our national anthem that is beautiful. He also has crazy range. He even stole some of Geoff’s bass line in Little Mermaid Medley. And yeah, you really can’t miss with Voiceplay. There are some videos I like more than others but I haven’t seen a single one that wasn’t wonderful.

Parts 1 and 2 were filmed first, but a little over a year later Geoff arranged the Billie Eilish mashup (it's not a conventional medley; it really is closer to a mashup) and conceived the video as a prequel to the Panic! videos. The attention to detail- clothing, hair styles, date on the iPhone- is immaculate.

Been a fan of VoicePlay and Home Free for over a year. Even got VoicePlay and Home Free tattoos. More than half of my tattoos are music related. Earl has an amazing voice. Another amazing guy that has collabed with VoicePlay is DeeJay Young. "Bang!", "Butter", "You're My Best Friend ", "Man In The Mirror", "Christmas Don't Be Late", and "In My Room". His falsetto voice and the runs. I melt every time.

So glad you caught a lot of the humor in this one! I think you are the first reactor I've seen that commented on Laine dramatically pulling the dickey off--I think it is hilarious! I agree that they have developed more musically since this video, but I also think one of the reasons they kept things a bit simpler is that they were packing in a LOT of songs that had to be immediately recognizable in a few seconds.

VoicePlay always have a blast making their videos. Yousee two former members here, Earl Elkins Jnr who left in 2020 for unspecified personal reasons, and J.None who left in 2021 I think having been approached by the US Navy to sing for them. Earl was an original member with Geoff and Layne, having known them since middle school. Geoff describes Earl's voice as a laser beam and talkd of Earl's world, which Geoff never enters. :) Fans really both of them but we don't see J.None from time to time as he joins in when on leave from his duties with the navy. They did have some problems learning the choreography, bit of dad dancing going on at times, but so much fun. You're beginning to see why we love these guys so much. They are adorable. I'm sure people will be reminding you that Eli is pronounced like Ellie, it's short for Eliezer. :)

Their choreographer here, Kristen, also helped them with the only other video I can think of where they dance, Cheerleader. It's old enough that Earl and Tony are in it, and Geoff has short hair. They worked with Kristen on The Sing-Off and are still friends.

Dude, I’m so loving your reactions. You’re so real. I saw the very second you got they were dancing “Single Ladies” to “Walk Like A Man”…loved how you lit up right before you laughed. I agree with what you said re: early VoicePlay vs current. The pandemic blocked them from touring and I think it ended up being good for them - everyone seems to have really sat down and worked on perfecting what they do. Pretty much every video is a MOOD now, which is a huge change from “let’s sit down with a mic and camera and sing” that was quite a few of their earlier videos. I’m pretty sure “Cheerleader” was shot in someone’s spare bedroom with a single camera doing autofocus on a tripod. (Also: adorable dancing in that one) They’ve raised their complexity across the bar. From the arrangements to the make up to the special effects…just everything has elevated in the past few years. Losing Earl was a hella blow, particularly on top of losing J. When they made that announcement, I burst into tears. Not just because he was gone but because I didn’t see how they’d recover from losing J and Earl so close together. I was expecting it to be the end. I’m so glad it wasn’t. Cesar is taking J’s role, I suspect they are waiting on DeeJay Young to finish his contract with Hamilton to bring him in. He’s another high tenor who could do Earl’s range. I don’t think you’ve seen one with DeeJay aboard yet. You can find him in Man In The Mirror, Butter, Bang, In My Room, and Christmas Don’t Be Late. Try one of those. Also put Tennessee Whiskey on your list. KILLER runs. For a very early one, “I Love Me” should be watched. That’s old enough to have Tony Wakim in it. (so…pre-J. None). Cheerleader also has Tony, but you don’t really hear him. He’s mostly just being sexy dancing around. Oh…another point for Cheerleader : gunshow. 💪 😋 Everyone went sleeveless. I approve of the look. 😁 Little tip: you can approximate a video’s age by two factors: 1) Who is in it. (With Tony, not J = oldest) 2) How long is Geoff’s hair? The shorter the hair, the older the video.

Just want to say that when you get to Panic at the Disco 1 & 2, be sure to watch ‘Trapped’ Billy Eilish first as it is story-wise the prelude to the Panics. Also, for this same line-up of singers, I highly suggest both ‘Tennessee Whisky’ and ‘Queen in 5 minutes’. Very different but both great! And lastly, if you think J None looks good here, you MUST watch him in ‘Friends on the Other Side’. Wow! He did it with them on his first leave home after Boot Camp and he looks very fit. Butter is another good one but you'll want to watch through several times because so much is going on. Yep...Layne is amazing. He started off in high school as the baritone, when Scott left, Layne wanted to do the beatboxing and Geoff taught him a lot of the basics but he is at the top of the best beatboxers. I am so happy that you reacted to this one, it is one of my favorites!! Yeah, I would say that this is kind of oldish in terms of voiceplay's videos but it is also kind of more recent too. This is a relatively older vid. The original line up had Earl in it. There was another member, Tony. See their version of Phantom of the Opera, Tony takes the lead in it. When Tony left, they added J None. Then, Earl departed, and they left it at 4, just adding featured players. J None is currently doing a hitch in the Navy, singing, and he visits as he can. When he departed, they added Cesar. Hopefully, once J None is done his hitch, we get him back to add up to 5 again. Now, my facts may be a bit off, but I think that's how it goes.

It was great fun watching the pleasure you had with the Boy Bands, costume changes, etc. Panic is a wild tale that starts with VPs cover of Billie Eilish Trapped, followed by Panic Part 1 and 2 in that order. It's like a mini movie so don't cheat yourself.

I've seen everyone mention the Panic in 4 mins Part 1 and 2 and wanted to throw in, if you want to go into the way-back machine, they also did a full cover of Death of a Bachelor. It was part of their partwork series (where people could suggest the song and who all was in it) so it's just Geoff and Earl instead of all of the guys. But it's amazing.

As they say... Actions speak louder than words. And you're actions spoke volumes. Awesome reaction. As far as the panic videos... Watch "Trapped" first . Then the panic videos together. Says 4 minutes but it's for both total. Then round up with "Queen In 5 Minutes". Then you'll have the whole story in order. Try to react to them as close together as you can as well. Another one kinda similar to this set is "Mission Jingle Bells". Filmed in 2019 and won the award for Best Shorts Video of The Year. Who ever thought you could sing jingle bells to the mission impossible theme? Voiceplay. They seemed to like getting kidnapped back then.

I love this one. If you want to see more of J None try Friends On the Other Side or The Grinch. Those are my favorites he's done. Geoff has some great choreo in his solo Way Down. It's an Elvis cover and he hits a phenomenal A0 as the last note. It's well worth watching.

When you mentioned that Earl sounded like a chipmunk voice, it reminded me that VoicePlay did the Chipmunk Song for Christmas with the current ensemble. It is really good and funny.

I,too, am a huge Panic fan. It’s OK if you decide to do Trapped first. Even though they made it a year later it is the prequel. But be sure to queue up both parts of Panic to do on your same reaction. The two together are a total of 4 minutes and there is a cliffhanger.

Yes, JNone was (and when available still is) a great part of the group. He has his own YT channel. Two vids with this same VP lineup that you might want to check are: (1) Tennessee Whiskey. Based on the Chris Stapleton original, but with Eli doing a run, then JNone doing one, then Geoff breaking away from his bass guitar line and doing a sorta run, then finally a "group run." Earl only has a few lead notes. (2) Can't Help Falling In Love. JNone is prominent, but everyone gets featured in the harmonies, including Earl, and even Layne.

I know in the part where Earl was singing walk like a man when he talked about spreading lies the guy they panned to that was all "you should see the size of his wallet" was Earls Husband.

I suggest watching their Billie Eilish in 3 Minutes first; it's all part of a story, with the Billie video setting up the 2-part Panic! ones.

As much as I love the current lineup I miss Earls high notes. Eli has stepped in to fill that area a lot but he doesn't get quite as high. J. None was brought in to replace Tony and I hope he is back when he is out of the navy. Eli's rock background really shows in some of these songs. Watching the different dances (that they nailed) for each song was really fun. I love this one!
