Thx for this video and ALL you do and have done Christian. I am now full on into the Gypsy jazz style, in fact I don't even pick up my Gibson ES 175. I love the waltz's the most. This song is actually my favourite Django song. My favourite version is the Brussels recording which I'm learning note for note, because I LOVE Django so much. I have been playing jazz for years, Joe Pas was always my favourite. I liked Django, but only had one cd from the 90's, there wasn't that many recordings I could find back then. But I re-listened to everything he's done. I feel Django is/was the progenitor of jazz guitar, he was the first and I feel a century ahead of everyone else. I can't see why they say Charlie Christian was the innovator, the first, etc? I mean I liked Charlie also, but Django was way ahead of him as a player.

Christiaan!! I'm a giant stepper! I joined because of the minor blues video...this is even better than that (the explanations are a little more concise on this one, both are awesome!). More Django song tutorials please please please! I realize I need to learn this by myself, but I need you, man!!

What's up with the Db major triad on the Bb diminished chord in phrase 3? Specifically that Ab, which seems not to be in any applicable scale.

Personally I consider the #ivm7b5 | ivm6 | iiim7 | biiidim7 | iim7 | V7 | I to be: II7 | V7sus4b9 | Imaj7 | II7(b9) | iim7 | V7 | I So basically two ii-V-Is in the same key... Do you agree with that analysis? Thanks a lot! Also really loved your Just Friends video btw!

Yes, good analysis. If you think F#7alt on the Bbdim you'll get an even cooler sound (but A7alt works too).
