2 жыл бұрынToday we take a look around Saint Gobain Pam (UK) Ltd, Holwell Works, Welby Rd, Asfordby Hill, Melton Mowbray LE14 3RE.
We was very surprised at the lack of signage and weak security at this place.
We kept to the pedestrian footpath at all times and observed all signs.
We eventually reached the foundry when we see a PPE Must Be Worn Past This Point Sign so we turned back.
The alarm was raised and then it turned into chaos.
Then the drone went over and the Director made an appearance.

I work for Saint Gobain UK in Telford, can strongly say our security is better than this. Shocked at how far you got in all honesty. This video has definitely ruffled some feathers tho, been a company statement released about this and new signage is being put up around site and security are being a lot more strict. 👏🏽👏🏽

Their security needs to be replaced immediately, before somebody walks onto the property and getting hurt or killed. This security guard must have been asleep as you walked in.

His focus should have been on fixing the security issues immediately. As you say, he is on here forever.

DJ may explain the laws, rules and regulations to all and sundry but nothing seems to sink in with the various workers and management, it goes in one ear and straight out of the other as there is nothing in between to stop it. Think it’s the security guy’s last day, how the bloody hell were you able to get that far into the company furnace area, that’s a major security breach and it must be a sackable offence to let someone walk that far into the site without been challenged by a member of security or company staff.

The guy that approached DJ near the furnace area, should not only have warned DJ of the requirements of PPE and signing in procedure, but also should have escorted him to one of those areas ... not just point him in the right direction and let him go freely wandering again. wow - what a fantastic, absolute textbook audit. DJ held his own in a super polite and informed interaction. Thrilling to watch and DJ run rings around the large group of people who tried to question the motives of the audit. The choice of voice over and lower volume during the drone footage was inspired and an excellent choice. What a delight to watch - flawless. Well done and many thanks.

To Alan and the PAM-UK 'family' of workers, your products are great and you are generally a good company - but your 'security' was utterly useless, anyone could have gotten in there, whether innocent people that could end up in extreme danger from the foundry, or hostile persons in a theft or terrorism context. And the person, DJ, who you should have been thanking and having a pleasant friendly chat with for highlighting the situation, was surrounded by multiple people who seemed to be inspiring each other to gradually increase the hostility bit by bit, not an honourable way to behave. Then after, DJ, who stated that he didn't intend to be there again, not listened to and repeatedly told not to come on site again. Please improve!

I am not a customer, In the past I was one of what people call 'drainspotters' had an interest in manhole covers and access covers, the industrial product, the varieties, the designs, if you search Japanese manhole covers on youtube you can see the height of what is possible with them. Anyway, due to my interest I was restrained in what I said, I could have had some very harsh words for them.

Eventually word will get round. And when you or other photographers turn up at large industrial sites they will welcome you with open arms, show you around safely and answer all non-confidential questions. With it all being done in a warm and friendly manner. A visit from a photographer is a fantastic opportunity for great free publicity. DJ, you are becoming a household name in this type of video content. Give it another year or two and you'll be recognised just about everywhere you go.

One thing that's pretty much standard is security saying that you can't enter or signs and barriers to stop you. The fact you were able to walk around the site and only noticed by a member of staff that the usual "you can't do that" rubbish started. If they want to protect their "private" property that's on them to do so

It's amazing what places you can find with the drone ay 300-400ft that are hidden when you're on ground level. i think there might be a re-visit to this site to see any improvements on the gates and security (and the security geezer)

PPE is basically a requirement for all employees, and this is a company policy for employees only. He is security and cannot give orders and he has absolutely no authority over anyone and why does he assume you must answer him? They have no clue about the law and just try and make it up as they go along and they are struggling to cover up their failures and first question is "wheres your car" so they can report it to the police who will find the name of the registered keeper and pass it on. Strange how there is nobody to man the security gate but 10 people can turn up. Glad you aren't flying your drone over their property and they have noticed you are doing what they claimed you wouldn't be doing and that makes me smile. Alan is quite correct about reporting to the gate house because it invalidates their insurance for visitors and it makes the company fully liable for any injuries any visitor sustains and I would suggest Alan has the entrance fenced off so people cannot enter without passing the gate house.

What they fail to understand is that any lost child could have freely wandered into the manufacturing areas and been killed, Allan would then be investigated for corporate manslaughter and it would be him that faces jail time. They're annoyed that you entered but their complacency could be very dangerous to anybody with dementia or learning difficulties. 👍🇬🇧

@@zz4753 It is the companies responsibility to make sure they ensure safety. This means they have systems in place to prevent any unauthorised persons entering their site.

You handled them perfectly and as you’re making that company aware of health and safety. It’s very important that they up the safety of the site as you could have been a 4 year old child entering the site and especially what you showed us. They need to stop blaming yourself and others and take responsibility for the lack of safety. Great video again 👍🏻

Further thought on those broken bags of what looks like slag or even worse ash. Blowing across the fields that stuff carries level heavy metals like mercury and other poisons . pretty sure that did not look like an approved waste handling site with the broken bags of black waste blowing across the countryside .Did you notice as soon as you pointed out the dumping the panic entered the conversation .

DJ has a sad life lol, said the man working for a company 9 - 5 for a pay packet, making manhole covers.... so exciting!! Whilst DJ travels around the UK in his time on his dime doing something he enjoys. I know which life I would enjoy more, keep up the good work DJ.

Top KZfaqrs get paid a lot more than Chris Hurd does. Im guessing many Auditors make enough money to do it as a full time job, considering how frequently they release a video. I honestly wish I had the confidence to make my own KZfaq videos ££££

Superb audit, best one so far. Really interesting info, including drone operation detail. Uncovering serious security weaknesses, they would be foolish not to take your work seriously. My fave Uk auditor, keep up the good work mate 😊

The security gentleman obviously is completely unaware of the applicable laws. He does what he personally believes is right. A pity that security companies do not educate their staff sufficiently. The company is to blame and not the security person. It's obvious that only the security company makes the big money here.. with an security officer without the knowledge needed. I feel sorry for the security gentleman and disgusted by the company that he's working for.

This is an amazing visit and look around. Worst security ever tho, and absolutely hilarious. Alan should be thanking you, and was right to come out slightly panicked. His site is woefully under secure and a health and safety risk, and I dont mean to use H&S in a nerdy way, but just that its Alan who would get sued should anything happen. He's right to panic. Too little too late by the point he paid you a visit tho! Really liking the commentary over the drone footage too. Makes it more watchable for me personally.
