DJI Air 3 or Mini 3 Pro for a first-time drone buyer in 2023/2024? What to you think?

Just got the Air 3 myself as my first drone. I'm a hobby photographer and wanted to be able to take pictures from the air. The obstacle avoidance sealed the deal for me, since I too need all the help I can get flying this thing. The C1 label puts it in the same air-space (A1) as the mini 3 pro here in Europe.

I just want to say that this is gonna be like 5% of first-time drone buyers taking such a risky investment. As I'm hearing it you were maybe a videographer and jumped right into an Air 3 and Part 107 and real estate work all at once...yeah less than 5% but you may have a certain opportunity or niche area where you're that vital. Image quality - Yes...Obstacle Avoidance - No, omni-directional versus front/back is only going to benefit someone in your realm of work as most pilots would be well above any obstacles if flying sideways or any pattern in which the drone is in said orientation while filming...but very knowledgeable video on something we all love that found this video so I had to like and sub. Much success in your new adventure man I'll come back and check in to see your progress!

Yep, I'm a photographer and videographer....been doing real estate (among other things). I wanted to be able to offer drone work in addition to my current services. I don't think it's a very "risky" investment since the Air 3 is not a crazy amount more money than the Mini 3 Pro. IMO, the added benefits of the Air 3 justify the price delta. I appreciate the feedback and so glad that you subscribed! Thank you for the support!

I would, but its too heavy, and living in the city you really need to be under the weight limit.

Are you in the US? If so, are you a recreational flyer or Part 107? If you're in the US AND a recreational flyer, then going with the Mini 3/Pro, being under 250g will save you the registration fee...which is only $5. Other than that, it doesn't save you anything in terms of regulations because you still can't fly over people, cars, etc. However, if you are mostly worried about portability, then yes, the Mini is the way to go. Thanks for watching!

@@MattYamamoto100 Canada. I live right by an airport in downtown Toronto. It's a no fly zone for anything over 250g
