Ever considered the Integra goggles? No phone connection required for remote id

Thank you for sharing your experience. I just bought an avata and I think in Brazil it's not required to connect the phone to fly this drone. I already have a mavic 3 and mini 3 pro and I'm excited to get my first FPV experience with this little friend avata.

I'm flying the Avata with the V2 Goggles and first time with the Motion Controller. Had it about two weeks now and am considering changing to the Integra Goggles for the built in GPS to minimize need to connect phone. Props to DJI, haven't tried it yet but apparently the goggles and motion controller will work with several of my other drones including the Air3 and Air2s. Thanks Rob! Appreciate your work and contributions.

Just got the mini 3 pro a few weeks ago and I really like it. However I’m ordering the Avata today. Based off this video I can already tell I’m going to fly the Avata more 😫😂

Nice recap mate, I still dont see the Integra's or G2's to be an upgrade over the V2's yet though. The V2's may have a lower image quality than the other goggles, but the V2's have a higher refresh rate and wider FOV which is better for flying proximity and low to the ground or at least helps with making it more comfortable to be in these situations in my opinion.

When you said you would prefer to fly the Avata over the mini 3 pro...are you using the googles 2 with both...or just the googles on the Avata and the normal controller with the mini 3 pro? I fly both with the googles now and don't fine a huge difference with either except a much longer flight time with the mini3pro. For sure the Avata is more agile in the air...but it's not hugely different. If I'm using the motion controller.

Hi Rob For me the biggest downside of current Avata in EASA is not having a C class mark. After December it can only be flown in subcategory A3 which is a bummer. That's the reason I don't have the Avata and I fly my Mini3 Pro with the Integra Googles. Of course the experience with the Avata should be better but I don't want to buy a non C classed drone. By weight the Avata could be included in the C1 class but I doubt that other requirements are met and most probable it will be a C2 class drone. To fly a C2 class drone in the subcategory A2 there is the need of the A2 CofC (I currently have the A1-A3 CofC needed in my country to fly legacy sub250gr drones). If the Avata is a C2 class drone I would have to assess how can I fly it in the subcategory A2 to see it fits my needs. Then maybe I buy one and take the A2 CofC.

If the remote ID means so much to you...I suggest using the new Altegra googles with GPS. This will eliminate the hassle of using a phone plug-in. I think that would be a better way to go than buying a custom fpv drone. So far I don't need remote id in Taiwan where I'm flying. So I'm okay with my googles 2

For custom builds buy flywoo explorer 4 inch dji O3. If cinewhoop then geprc cinebot 30. For freestyle geprc mark5 .all of them with elrs or tbs crossfire. The flywoo comes with gps and buzzer which is a kind equivalence. With lion battery 3000mah it makes 28min of flight depending on your style of flight. Thanks for the video.

Hey Rob, Remote ID was a bit of a pain initially but I'm so used to connecting the phone to the goggles now that I barely notice the extra step. My bigger objection is the implementation of remote ID in general. I suspect future generations of the Avata will have GPS built in (already happening with the Integra apparently). In terms of the footage, I get much nicer quality footage from the Air 2s but the Avata footage is good enough.
@IguanaBoard
@IguanaBoard Жыл бұрын
never understood the hate for remote ID. Do you also object to license plates on vehicles or tail numbers on planes? it's all about accountability. most people fly in controlled airspace. in fact your profile picture was shot in some of the busiest class B airspace in the country, inside an even busier vfr corridor. inexperienced pilots can easily break air safety rules every day while sitting comfortably on the ground; Remote ID at least holds them accountable for mess ups and could potentially prevent dangerous people from flying.
@markbebawi
@markbebawi 11 ай бұрын
@@IguanaBoard My profile picture was not shot in class B airspace. It was shot in class G airspace. There is plenty of class B to the north of where I shot it from. I could show you on a map if you're curious. I don't have a problem with the idea of remote ID. I'm part 107 certified and log all my flights. I don't have a problem with the FAA knowing who I am and where I am when I'm flying. I do have a problem with the general public being able to see pilot locations. Hopefully that clears things up for you. 👍

I am very tempted by the Avata as it checks a lot of boxes when compared to my beloved Mavic 3. However, I have decided to hold off until DJI comes up with a new and improved version of the Avata. The current Avata has 3 main drawbacks in my opinion which are deal breakers for me: 1) It only shoots in 4k60, 2) I see way too many complaints of erratic flight behaviors and fly-away issues and lastly 3) It is not compatible with the RC or RC Pro controller. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

@@RobHK Thanks for response. I had impression by looking at specs on DJI site that it could only shoot in 60fps. Thanks for clarifying. I have both the RC and RC Pro controllers and I can’t see myself buying ANOTHER DJI controller just for the Avata.

@663 Жыл бұрын
@@ClassicCyclingCC it can shoot in 24,25,30,50,60 fps. Avata or any future FPV drones will never be compatible with RC controller, it's like asking can when I can use hex screwdriver to tight flat bolt and your second mention of flight behaviour it's only when you do a sharp turn the drone might fall because it ends up upside down

More battery equals more weight, so sacrifice manoeuvrability for longer flight time. I find that I get 12-15 minutes, and my brain needs a break anyways. I have 3 batteries, so I can be charging 2 simultaneously in my car while flying one, I should be able to Flt y all day, no issue.

This remote ID nonsense is depressing. My major issue with the Avata is that it is so damn loud! My God, the damn thing screams so loudly, it draws the attention of everyone and everything to you...even the birds and insects are drawn to you. I don't like that. Also, the inability to handle winds, thats just sad, especially for me that likes to hike higher altitudes with stronger winds. This is why I stuck to my dji fpv
