Trace & parallel in the woods and open space.
Location: Arosio & Monte Bar, Lugano, Switzerland
Speed: Normal mode
Info: Remote control in my backpack. I removed the sticks and I turned off the DJI RC screen.

Great test with your Mini 3 Pro, I find the active track to be excellent, but small branches can catch it out sometimes 👍

If someone asked me to bet that the drone would follow their bike ride the through a bloody forest… nope, no chance. Loved the ending, flattery went bat I'm guessing. Seriously mate, colour me Impressed 10/10, I'm going to grab one now. I run large scale RC vehicles with a gimbaled FPV camera that I drive from the footage on my tablet and was considering adding a drone to the equation, ignoring the ending that was a brilliant advertisement for the wee thing. 🙃👍🎥

It crashes because when it follows you from the side it has its sensors disabled (it has no side sensors but could still see obstacles with the front ones). Anyway I recommend it, DJI should pay me for the advertising 😅

@@maurocavalli They absolutely should, although they aren't terribly expensive compared to a sexy new "Specialised Turbo Levo" that here in Australia is a very tidy $21,000.

Great test, amazing views. Is the drone OK after that crash in the end? I'm thinking on buying a drone to some aerial footage to my channel, but I'm still with huge doubs about active tracking...

Thanks, the drone is OK. If you need to buy a tracking drone the mini 3 pro is currently the best

That's so impressive! Too bad that with such a slow speed that it requires to track it's mostly usable for uphills ;) But anyway great video, thank you! What are you doing with a controller while riding? :) Are you hiding it in a backpack?

Con tutti quei rametti senza foglie!! Pensavo si schiantasse prima! Io l'ho schiantato alla seconda uscita non sapendo che in modalità laterale, a differenza dell'air2s, disattiva i sensori.

Si infatti, hai ragione. Nella seconda parte del video sono in parallel. Non capisco perché va a disattivarli. Potrebbe schivare qualcosa anche con gli altri sensori, soprattutto quelli sotto (vedi scena finale)

Are you using any specific settings so that it doesn't lose track of you? I basically have to be going in a straight line or it loses me. Any sharp turn or small obstacle and it loses track of me. A biy disappointed with it so far.

No specific settings, In this video I almost always used 'trace'. I think they have made activetrack worse with the updates

In the last month, mine got worse too. It loses me more often, I can't get too far away and it keeps saying it's too close to the ground. Not as bad as your experience but I think I will go back to using Air2s for the activetrack. In the general obstacle avoidance settings, what did you set? Bypass, brake or off?

@@chameleonpogono The settings are correct. Months ago the mini 3 looked like the Skydio kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qMh4pbl9sbmtoWw.html Anyway, try when you start the activetrack to keep it very close, avoid backlight or too dark areas
