While on my way to Jensen Beach Florida for the Great South Florida Drone Meetup I stopped at the Canoe Creek Service Plaza. I flew the DJI Mini 4 Pro and took a good look at the Florida landscape. I knew I wasn't in Idaho anymore!

The ‘road or ditch’ you were wondering about is a fire break. It prevents fires from spreading across property boundaries. The landscape you were flying over is a ‘pine flatwoods,’ which was once the dominant native plant community in FL. It is heavily adapted to frequent ground fires and land managers conduct prescribed burns to maintain it. Those fires must be contained by fire breaks.

Those "ponds" are usually the result of "borrow pits" (common highway engineering term, at least in the states we worked in here in the midwest). The excavated material is used as fill for roadways, rest stops, low areas, etc.. They then fill naturally from ground water and also used as retention ponds from storm water drainage.

This is right next to where I live. I've been flying my Avata 2 around this area of Florida, and there are lots of things to see. I also never get bothered by anyone. Great area.

Interesting "flat" terrain. I believe those tall towers are "line-of-sight" microwave communication towers. Looking forward to the remainder of your flight adventures down there. Thanks for sharing! 😎

Wao my expectations has come through 1 dronie 2 cell phone tower and territorial view . I just ordered my mini 4 pro when i receive it I will surely put into good practice again General stay blessed and safe in flight all the time

In NJ will have some center of the road rest stops, and some on both sides of the divided highway. A little bit of everything I guess. And just like this rest stop in FL, there is never that much to see when taking up a drone. But I was hoping to see a gator. Nice flight Marcus, and thanks for sharing.

Great little video Marcus! We have one of those type of rest-stop islands here in Delaware, which sits between the north and southbound lanes! I wish I could have been to the meet-up, but I will be in Miami for my cousin's wedding in August. You bet I will have my drones with me! Sorry there were no gators to see! LOL! Today I flew my air 3 with the goggles 3 and rc 2 controller.great but certain features like cruise control are not available.i am sure a firmware update in the future will take care of that problem 😊😅🤠😁🇺🇸😎

Hello Marcus hope you're doing very well I'm not sure if you will be able to help me with this issue or not but the last time I flew my Mini 4 pro from my balcony 6 days ago with 4K and when I uploaded the video to my channel it says 750 p so I'm not sure why it's not 1080p I have tried many time to fix this problem but it did not work out with me. Just wondering if you know how I can fix that? Thanks

I upload to KZfaq in 4K. You can adjust the resolution in the menu on KZfaq. 👍

@@IdahoQuadcopter Yeah, I was impressed the first time I saw one. I thought we could use something like these in Oregon along the I5 corridor. Of course Oregon closed most of our rest areas.
